Hasan Al (born 18 June 1972 in Sivas, Sivas Province) is a Turkish-born boxer from Denmark, best known for winning the European welterweight title in 1996 as an amateur. Career In his adopted country he became European champion in 1996 against Romania's Marian Simion. At the Olympics 1996, he defeated Ukraine's Sergiy Dzindziruk then lost to Simion. Al turned professional at middleweight in 1996 but was not successful. He beat Meldrick Taylor on points in 1998. Sivas
Sivas (Latin and Greek: ''Sebastia'', ''Sebastea'', Σεβάστεια, Σεβαστή, ) is a city in central Turkey and the seat of Sivas Province. Carlos Manuel Baldomir (born April 30, 1971) is an Argentine former professional boxer who competed from 1993 to 2014. He held the WBC, The ''Ring'', and lineal welterweight titles in 2006, and challenged once for the WBC super welterweight title in 2007. On July 31, 2019 Carlos Baldomir was sentenced to 18 years in prison for molesting his 8 year old daughter over a period of 2 years. In March 2020 false rumors spread that Baldomir had been killed in a prison riot after a picture was shared online of a deceased prisoner that bore a striking resemblance to the disgraced boxer. Meldrick Taylor (born October 19, 1966) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1984 to 2002. He is a two-weight world champion, having held the IBF junior welterweight title from 1988 to 1990, and the WBA welterweight title from 1991 to 1992. As an amateur, Taylor won a gold medal in the featherweight division at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Amateur career Taylor, one of many boxing champions hailing from the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, learned his craft in the gyms of his hometown and posted a 99-4 record as an amateur fighter. Marian Simion (born 14 September 1975 in București) is a Romanian boxer, who competed in the Light Middleweight (71 kg) at the 2000 Summer Olympics and won the silver medal. He repeated that feat one year later, at the 2001 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Belfast after having won the world title at the previous tournament in Houston, Texas, United States.
