Radio broadcasting is the broadcasting of audio signal, audio (sound), sometimes with related metadata, by radio waves to radio receivers belonging to a public audience. CKEX-FM (100.7 MHz) is a radio station in Red Deer, Alberta. Owned by Harvard Media, it broadcasts a modern rock format branded as ''X 100.7''. History CKRI-FM received approval by the CRTC on October 17, 2008, along with other new applications to serve Red Deer. CKRI launched on August 6, 2010 as ''100.7 The River'', with an adult contemporary format. In August 2014, the station flipped to adult hits as ''100.7 Cruz FM,'' which was modelled after its Edmonton sister station CKEA-FM. Canadian Communications Foundation
The Canadian Communications Foundation (CCF) was a Canadian nonprofit organization which documented the history of broadcasting in Canada, particularly radio and television networks, programs and broadcasters. The organization was established in 1967 and announced that it would begin wrapping up its work in 2023. Since 1995, the organization distributed its collection via its website. The CCF was established in 1967 by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. Its mission: to "commemorate throughout Canada the development of electronic communications". By 2020, the foundation started to wind down as its original mission was largely accomplished. The foundation's collected materials included interviews with broadcasters who had helped shape Canada's broadcast industry, a history of television stations, a Hall of Fame for broadcasters, and a collection of research articles on broadcasting in Canada. Yorkton Terriers
The Yorkton Terriers are a team in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) based in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. The team plays their home games in the Westland Insurance Arena, which has a seating capacity of 2,300. The Terriers won the 2014 Royal Bank Cup as Junior A Champions of Canada. History The team joined the SJHL for the 1972–73 season and won its first league championship in 1983. The Terriers have competed in the Junior "A" National Championships on four other: 1991 in Sudbury, Ontario, 1996 in Melfort, Saskatchewan, 1999 as the hosts in Yorkton, 2006 in Brampton, Ontario, and 2014 in Vernon, British Columbia, where the captured their only national championship.
