Harry Thomas (footballer)
Henry Thomas (born 28 February 1901) was a Welsh professional footballer who played as an outside left. He played for Swansea Town and Porth before joining Manchester United in 1922. He went on to make more than 100 appearances in the Football League for the club. He later played for Merthyr Town. During his career, he won a single cap for the Wales national football team. Career Born in Swansea, Wales, Thomas began his career with his hometown side Swansea Town. He made his debut for the club in the Southern Football League but struggled to establish himself in the first team and left the side in 1920, having made three league appearances. He instead joined Welsh League side Porth where he helped the team win the Welsh League title in 1922, having formed a forward partnership with Evan Jones. Albert Henry Thomas (1 July 1888 – 13 January 1963) was a British bantamweight professional boxer who won a gold medal in Boxing at the 1908 Summer Olympics. He fought as Harry Thomas. Boxing career Thomas won the 1908 Amateur Boxing Association British bantamweight title, when boxing out of the Birmingham ABC. He then competed for Great Britain at the 1908 Olympic Games in the boxing bantamweight division, where he won the gold medal with a decision over John Condon in the final. In 1909, he went to the United States, where he remained except for a trip to Australia in 1913 and multiple visits to his home country, England, every so often, the last visit being in the late 1950s. Roger William Corman (April 5, 1926 – May 9, 2024) was an American film director, producer, and actor. Harry Thomas (bishop)
Harry Thomas was the Bishop of Taunton from 1945 until his death a decade later. Born in 1897, he served in the Welsh Regiment during the First World War. After leaving the army, he attended the Knutsford Ordination Test School, and then St David's College, Lampeter. He was made deacon in 1923, and then ordained priest in 1924. After further study at Oriel College, Oxford, he spent a short time as a missionary in Zanzibar with Universities' Mission for Central Africa. He then became a Lecturer at Ely Theological College, and then Archdeacon of Brisbane from 1938 to 1945.
