Harry Plummer (Australian Footballer)
Henry George Plummer (22 April 1912 – 30 June 1993) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon Football Club, Essendon in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League (VFL). After leaving Essendon, Plummer played for two seasons with Oakleigh in the Victorian Football Association (VFA). Plummer later served in the Royal Australian Air Force during World War II. Devonport, Tasmania
Devonport ( ; Palawa Kani: ''Tiagarra'') is a city in northern Tasmania, Australia, located on the lands of the Pannilerpanner clan of the Palawa nation. It is situated at the mouth of the Mersey River. Devonport had an urban population of 26,150 at the 2021 Australian census. History The first European settlement before 1850 was on a block of land at Frogmore, near present-day Latrobe. In 1850, a settler named Oldaker occupied land at present-day Devonport. Saw milling and coal mining developed with settlers arriving from England in 1854 on board the sailing ship 'Balmoral'. During the 1850s the twin settlements of Formby and Torquay were established on opposite banks at the mouth of the Mersey River. Dalmeny, New South Wales
Dalmeny is a town on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia, approximately seven kilometres north of Narooma. At the 2016 census, Dalmeny had a population of 1,937 people. Dalmeny (Dal-men-e) is a mainly residential area, with the town built upon headlands looking over the Tasman Sea to the south, and the shore of Lake Mummuga, a coastal lagoon, to the north. Due to its location, Dalmeny is a reasonably popular camping area, with a large camping ground located in the centre of town overlooking the southern end of Brou Beach (commonly called Dalmeny Beach, despite this technically being the next beach south). Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. Essendon Football Club
The Essendon Football Club, nicknamed the Bombers, is a professional Australian rules football club. The club plays in the Australian Football League (AFL), the game's premier competition. The club was formed by the McCracken family in their Ascot Vale home "Alisa", and while the exact date is unknown, it is generally accepted to have been in 1872. The club’s first recorded game took place on 7 June 1873 against a Carlton Second 20. From 1878 until 1896, the club played in the Victorian Football Association then joined seven other clubs in October 1896 to form the breakaway Victorian Football League (later changed to AFL in 1990).
