Harold Bishop
Harold Wayne Bishop is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'', played by Ian Smith (actor), Ian Smith. The actor was offered the role by the show's creator and executive producer Reg Watson. Smith made his first screen appearance as Harold during the episode broadcast on 30 January 1987. He departed in September 1991, but returned five years later in October 1996. Harold remained on screen for over twelve years, making him one of the longest-running characters in the show's history. Smith announced his departure from ''Neighbours'' in August 2008. Following a cancer storyline, Harold made his final appearance on 27 February 2009. In December 2010, Smith revealed that he would be reprising his role and Harold returned on 9 May 2011. Ian Smith (born 19 June 1938) is an Australian actor, television producer and screenwriter. Smith appeared in roles for Crawford Productions, before working as a producer, screenwriter and actor on the cult series ''Prisoner'' and the soap opera '' Neighbours'' as Harold Bishop from 1987 when the series was taken over by Network Ten until 1991. He returned to the role in 1996 and continued as a series regular until 2009, with subsequent guest appearances in 2011, 2015 and 2022. ''Neighbours'' is an Australian television soap opera, which has aired since 18 March 1985. It was created by television executive Reg Watson. The Seven Network commissioned the show following the success of Watson's earlier soap '' Sons and Daughters.'' Although successful in Melbourne, ''Neighbours'' underperformed in the Sydney market and was cancelled by Seven four months after it began airing. Kevin Harrington (actor)
Kevin Harrington (born 4 September 1959) is an Australian stage, television and film actor and comedian who is perhaps best known for his roles as Kevin Findlay on the Australian drama '' SeaChange'' in the 1990s and as David Bishop on the soap opera '' Neighbours''. Early life Harrington was born 4 September 1959, in Melbourne, Victoria. He graduated at Caroline Chisholm Catholic College in 1977. Peter Moon (born 18 January 1953) is an Australian comedian, best known for writing and performing in the sketch comedy ''Fast Forward''. Biography Moon was born in Yarram, Victoria. On ''Fast Forward'', his characters were often oafish sidekicks to more dominant characters played by Steve Vizard, including Barry the advertising executive and Abdul the Persian carpet salesman. Holy Soap is a UK television and entertainment website founded in June 2009 by the British television company Channel 5. "''Neighbours'': The Finale" comprises the 8901st, 8902nd and 8903rd episodes of the Australian television soap opera '' Neighbours''. It premiered on 28 July 2022 on both Network 10 and 10 Peach in Australia, and on 29 July on Channel 5 in the United Kingdom. It was conceived as the end of the serial, after it was cancelled due to the loss of its UK broadcaster and failure to find an alternative buyer, and production ceased after it was filmed. The ''Neighbours'' 30th Anniversary was a series of celebrations to mark the 30th anniversary of Australian television soap opera '' Neighbours''. The celebrations span over two weeks, beginning on 4 March 2015 in Australia, while starting on 18 March in the United Kingdom. The anniversary features many storylines, but points around Paul Robinson's ( Stefan Dennis) Erinsborough festival and the wedding of Daniel Robinson (Tim Phillipps) and Amber Turner ( Jenna Rosenow).
