Haritha Savithri
Haritha Savithry is a Malayalam writer, human rights activist and translator. She was awarded the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 2022 for the travalogue ''Murivettavarude Pathakal'' in 2022 and for the novel ''Zîn'' in 2023. Early life and family She was born at Karunagappalli, a small town in the district of Kollam in Kerala. She completed her post graduation in English Literature from the University of Kerala and went on to study in the University of Barcelona. She is doing doctoral research in the university of Barcelona in English philology now. University of Kerala (formerly known as University of Travancore) is a state-run public university in Thiruvananthapuram, the state capital of Kerala, India. It was established in 1937 by a promulgation of the Maharajah of Travancore, Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma who was also the first Chancellor of the university. C. P. Harita () is a king in Hindu literature. He is described to be the son of Yauvanāśva, and the grandson of King Ambarisha of the Suryavamsha dynasty. Harita is believed to have left his kingdom as a symbolic expiation of his sins. After completing the austerities, according to the Sthala Purana of Sriperumbudur, his descendants and he were accorded the status of a Brahmana by Narayana. Literature According to the Sthala Purana (the regional account of a temple's sacredness) of Sriperumbudur, Harita once embarked on a hunting expedition, when he spotted a tiger attacking a cow. In order to save the cow, he slew the tiger, but the cow was also killed. Even as he lamented his act, a heavenly voice asked him to go to Sriperumbudur, bathe in the temple tank, and pray for forgiveness from Narayana, who would absolve him of his sins. Ahmet Ümit (born September 30, 1960) is a Turkish author and poet. He is best known for his crime novels. Early years Ahmet Ümit was born in Gaziantep, in south-central Turkey, in 1960. His father was a kilim merchant and his mother a tailor. He was the youngest of the seven siblings. He finished his primary and middle school in his hometown. Ümit attended the Atatürk High School, however, finished it in Ergani, Diyarbakır. In 1979, he went to Istanbul to study Public Administration at Marmara University. He met his future wife Vildan during the university years, and married in 1981. They have a daughter Gül. Ümit became a member of a leftist organization, which struggled against the military regime in Turkey. Samar Yazbek
Samar Yazbek (, born 1970 in Jableh, Syria) is a Syrian writer and journalist. She studied Arabic literature at Tishreen University (Latakia). She has written in a wide variety of genres including novels, short stories, film scripts, television dramas, film and TV criticism, and literary narratives. Several of her works have been translated from the Arabic original into other languages. Biography Yazbek was born in Jableh to an Alawite family. Kollam District
