Thongkhosiem Haokip
Thongkosiem Haokip (born 13 March 1993), commonly known as Semboi, is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a forward. Career Early career Born in the village of Gangpijang in Manipur, Haokip began playing football for his state side at the youth levels in the national school games. He then joined local side United Sports Association in Khurai. He stayed with the side until he was spotted by Pune. He joined the Pune F.C. Academy in 2011 and played for the side in the I-League U20 and other tournaments. While part of the academy set-up at Pune, Haokip helped his side to two consecutive I-League U20 titles, in 2012 and 2013. Pune 2013–14 season Before the start of the 2013–14 I-League season, it was announced that Haokip would be promoted to the Pune first-team. Thadou People
Thadou people, also called Thadou Kukis, are the Thadou language-speaking Kuki people inhabiting Northeast India, Myanmar, Burma, and Bangladesh. "Thadou" is also the name of a particular clan among the Thadou Kukis. Other clans of Thadou Kukis include Haokip, Kipgen, Doungel, Hangshing, Mangvung etc. Identity The issues of identity with reference to "Thadou" are complex, since Thadou is the name of a clan (originating from an ancestor called Thadou), and also the name of a Thadou language, language spoken by other clans unrelated to Thadou and some clans "senior" to Thadou. There is a tendency to refer to all Thadou language-speakers as "Thadous", as if they form a tribe called "Thadou". But this is resented by some of the other clans. Boithang Haokip
Boithang Haokip (born 9 September 1991) is an Indian footballer who currently plays for SC East Bengal in the Indian Super League. A free-kick specialist, he primarily plays as a central midfielder but can play as a full-back or a wide player. Career Shillong Lajong Boithang started his career at Shillong Lajong's academy and made his senior professional debut during the 2009-10 I-League season, scoring twice, while at the same time, actively playing for Lajong's youth team. With his team relegated at the end of the season, Boithang continued with the youth team while participating in the 2011 I-League 2nd Division. Holkhomang Haokip is an veteran Indian politician, who was minister in various Manipur governments and a Member of Parliament during the 13th Lok Sabha.
