The Hanshin Daishōten (阪神大賞典, ''hanshin daishōten'') is a Japanese Conditions races, Grade 2 Flat racing, flat Horse racing, horse race in Japan for Thoroughbred Colt (horse), colts and Filly, fillies aged four and over run over a distance of 3,000 metres at the Hanshin Racecourse, Takarazuka, Hyogo. The race was run in late November or early December until 1987 when it was moved to a date in March. The race now serves as a trial for the spring edition of the Tenno Sho. It was first run in 1953. Race details The race is run at Hanshin Racecourse over a distance of 3,000 meters on turf using the inner curve. Hanshin Racecourse
is located in Takarazuka, Hyogo, Japan. It has a capacity of 139,000 and is used for horse racing. The land was originally owned by Kawanishi Aircraft Company, which manufactured combat planes during World War II. After World War II, GHQ ordered the company to stop manufacturing combat planes, which led to the closure of the factory. In 1949, Keihanshin Keiba K.K. built the Hanshin Racecourse. (born March 15, 1969, in Kyoto, Kyoto) is a Japanese jockey. Take made his riding debut in 1987 and currently holds seven all-time records in Japan. Naosuke Sugai (; born June 3, 1966) is a Japanese Horse trainer and retired jockey of the Japan Racing Association. Career Sugai started his jockey career in March 1985 after graduating the 's jockey curriculum. He was one of the first members to graduate the school alongside Yoshitomi Shibata. is a Japanese horse trainer and former jockey who has won 29 Grade 1 races in Japan and abroad. He is affiliated with the Japan Racing Association (JRA) in Rittō. His father is former jockey who was said to be a "genius" during his active career, and his uncle is Takashi Kitamura, also a former jockey. His wife is former Fuji TV announcer . Yasuo Tomomichi (; born August 11, 1963) is a Japanese horse trainer of the Japan Racing Association. Career Tomomichi was born in the district of Akō, Hyōgo. After graduating from in 1982, he enrolled in the Osaka Prefecture University's School of Veterinary Medicine to become a veterinarian, and joined the University's Equestrian Club.
