Hans Stiglund
Hans Bertil Stiglund (born 8 June 1955 in Haparanda) is a Swedish bishop and author who has been Bishop of the Diocese of Luleå since 2002. Biography Stiglund studied theology at Uppsala University from 1974 to 1980 and took theology bachelor's degree in 1980. That same year he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Gothenburg. He worked as curate and later as assistant pastor in Forshälla parish until 1987. He then became vicar in Pajala parish from 1987 to 1991 and in Alatornio Haparanda parish 1991-2002. From 1993 to 2002 he was rural dean in Kalix-Torne contracts and 1999-2002 deputy of the chapter. In 2002 he was elected as bishop of the Diocese of Luleå. Åsa Nyström
Åsa Gunilla Elisabet Nyström (born 12 August 1960 in Umeå) is a Swedish prelate and current bishop of the Diocese of Luleå within the Lutheran Church of Sweden. Biography Nyström was ordained priest of the Swedish Evangelical Mission in 1982. In 1991 she was incardinated as a diocesan priest of the Church of Sweden. She has worked as director of studies and teachers in leadership at the Pastoral Institute in Uppsala and development secretary at the Swedish Church parish associations, focusing on management and leadership development. Haparanda
Haparanda (; Meänkieli and Finnish: ''Haaparanta'', ) is a locality and the seat of Haparanda Municipality in Norrbotten County, Sweden. It is adjacent to Tornio, Finland. Haparanda has a population of 9,166 inhabitants (2024). Haparanda is located near the Sweden-Finland border, at the northerly extreme of the Swedish coastline, as well as the easternmost point in Sweden, far removed from large cities. Its summers are very warm for a coastal location so far north, and winters are normally not extremely cold in spite of the relative proximity to the Arctic Circle. As a twin city, Haparanda has strong connections to Tornio and the Finnish side of the river and bilingualism of Swedish and Finnish is common although Swedish is the sole official language and the mother tongue of a vast majority of inhabitants.
