Hans Krondahl
Hans Krondahl (30 June 1929 – 2018) was a Swedish painter, tapestry weaver, textile artist and textile designer. He studied painting and textile art at Konstfack, (State College of Arts, Crafts and Design) in Stockholm from 1955 to 1960. Between 1959 and 1975, Krondahl designed textile designs for Nordiska Kompaniet's textile division under Astrid Sampe. Krondahl set up his own studio in 1960 in Brösarp, where he created tapestries and related artwork, and he also took up fabric designing for various Swedish companies. The studio closed in 1992. From the early 1960s Krondahl taught Textile Art and Design in various schools in Sweden and abroad. Periodically from 1974 on, Krondahl worked in the U.S. He held a position as Textile Design Expert for UNIDO in Bandung, Indonesia in 1979 and 1980. Prince Eugen Medal
The Prince Eugen Medal () is a medal conferred by the King of Sweden for "outstanding artistic achievement". The medal was established in 1945 by the then King of Sweden, Gustaf V, in connection with the eightieth birthday of his brother Prince Eugen who was a noted painter and art collector. It is awarded every year on 5 November, the name day of Eugen, and presented to the winners at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design, is a university college for higher education in the area of art, crafts and design in Stockholm, Sweden. History Konstfack has had several different names since it was founded in 1844 by the ethnologist and artist Nils Månsson Mandelgren as a part-time art school for artisans, under the name "Söndags-Rit-skola för Handtverkare" ("Sunday Drawing School for Artisans"). The school was taken over by ''Svenska Slöjdföreningen'' (today known as Svensk form) the next year and renamed ''Svenska Slöjdföreningens skola''. In 1857, the first two female students (Sofi Granberg and Matilda Andersson) were accepted, and the following year female students officially were invited to apply.
