The film was based on the 1945 play ''The House in Montevideo (play), The House in Montevideo'' by Curt Goetz, which had previously been The House in Montevideo (1951 film), turned into a film in 1951. ''Count Bobby, The Terror of The Wild West'' (German: ''Graf Bobby, der Schrecken des wilden Westens'') is a 1966 Austrian musical comedy film directed by Paul Martin and starring Peter Alexander, Olga Schoberová and Gunther Philipp. It was the last in a trilogy of films featuring the character Count Bobby.von Dassanowsky, p. 190. It drew some inspiration from the ongoing series of Karl May film adaptations set in the Wild West. The film's sets were designed by the art director Fritz Jüptner-Jonstorff. The Weimar Republic, officially known as the German Reich, was the German Reich, German state from 1918 to 1933, during which it was a constitutional republic for the first time in history; hence it is also referred to, and unofficially proclaimed itself, as the German Republic.
