Susan Maughan
Susan Maughan (born Marian Maughan, 1 July 1938) is an English singer who released successful singles in the 1960s. Her most famous and successful song, " Bobby's Girl" (a cover of the Marcie Blane single), reached number three in the UK Singles Chart at Christmas time in 1962. Tobias' songs have been performed by numerous performers, including Elvis Presley, Bobby Rydell, The Poni-Tails, Patti Page, Susan Maughan, Hank Locklin, Jimmy Jones, Roy Orbison, k.d. Lang, Showaddywaddy and Ricky Nelson. His most successful songs were " Good Timin' by Jimmy Jones, "Little Bitty Girl" by Bobby Rydell, "Johnny Will" by Pat Boone and "Hello, This is Joanie" by Paul Evans. His song "Born Too Late" by the Poni-Tails reached number 7 in the US and number 5 in the UK in 1958. Paul Evans (born March 5, 1938) is an American rock and roll singer and songwriter, who was most prominent in the 1950s and 1960s. As a performer, he had hits with the songs " Seven Little Girls Sitting in the Backseat" (his biggest hit, recorded with The Curls), reaching No. 9 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in 1959), " Midnight Special" and "Happy-Go-Lucky Me". Evans had a sizeable hit in the UK and Australia in 1978–79 with the morbid country song "Hello, This Is Joanie" (as it was titled on the New Zealand pressing released by Polydor Records) or, as it was known on a Spring Records release, "Hello, This is Joannie (The Telephone Answering Machine Song)". Wally Stott
Angela Morley (10 March 192414 January 2009) was an English composer and conductor who became a familiar household name to BBC Radio listeners in the 1950s. She attributed her entry into composing and arranging largely to the influence and encouragement of the Canadian light music composer Robert Farnon. Morley transitioned in 1972 and thereafter lived openly as a transgender woman. Later in life, she lived in Scottsdale, Arizona. Morley won three Emmy Awards for her work in music arrangement.
