Han Weiguo
Han Weiguo (; born January 1956) is a general (''shang jiang'') of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA). He was Commander of the PLA Ground Force from August 2017 to June 2021, and formerly served as the inaugural Commander of the Central Theater Command. Biography Originally from Jingxing County, Hebei, Han is a graduate of the PLA National Defense University. He served as the commander of the 12th Group Army (now 71st Group Army), then in December 2013, the deputy commander of the Beijing Military Region (now defunct). He was promoted to lieutenant general in 2015. After the 2016 re-organization of the PLA, he was named Commander of the Central Theater Command; at that time he was only one of two lieutenant generals named to commander or commissar positions in the re-organized Theater Command structure. Beijing Military Region
The Beijing Military Region was one of seven military regions for the Chinese People's Liberation Army. From the mid-1980s to 2017, it had administration of all military affairs within Beijing city, Tianjin city, Hebei province, Shanxi province, and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The Region is mainly responsible for defending the People's Republic of China from Mongolia and Russia, and also protects the capital of China, and had the largest number of military personnel of any of the seven regions active from 1985 to 2017. The Region has now been disbanded and superseded by the Central Theater Command and Northern Theater Command. Wang Chunning
Wang Chunning (; born March 1963) is a general of the People's Liberation Army of China, currently serving as commander of the People's Armed Police. He was promoted to the rank of major general ('' shaojiang'') in 2011, lieutenant general ('' zhongjiang'') in July 2017, and general (''Shangjiang'') in December 2020. Wang Jiaocheng
Wang Jiaocheng (; born 1952) is a retired general of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Ground Force. He served as the inaugural Commander of the Southern Theater Command from 2016 to 2017. Prior to that he was the Commander of the Shenyang Military Region between 2012 and 2016, and Deputy Commander of the Nanjing Military Region from 2007 to 2012. The 19th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party was elected by the 19th National Congress in 2017, and sat until the next National Congress was convened in 2022. PLA Ground Force
The People's Liberation Army Ground Force (PLAGF), also referred to as the PLA Army, is the land-based service branch of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), and also its largest and oldest branch. The PLAGF can trace its lineage from 1927 as the Chinese Red Army; however, it was not officially established until 1948.
