Hamsaladeevi
Hamsaladeevi () is a village in Diviseema, Koduru mandal, Koduru Mandal, Krishna District of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is about 88 km from Vijayawada and from Machilipatnam. The nearest city is Avanigadda. Hamsaladeevi hosts an old temple of Lord Krishna (), constructed during the rule of Chola kings. It is one of the 108 Vishnu temples. The Krishna River converges into the Bay of Bengal right outside the village. Diviseema
Diviseema is a small and deltaic island in Krishna District of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It comprises seven Mandals in total - Avanigadda, Challapalli, Mopidevi, Nagayalanka, Koduru, Ghantasala and Movva . Diviseema was also known as Divi Taluk in the past. Avanigadda and Challapalli are the major towns in Diviseema. This area was formerly ruled by the Yarlagadda kings of Deverakota estate. Modern Day Diviseema area comes under Avanigadda Assembly constituency . Etymology Diviseema is obtained from the two words Deevi meaning 'island' and seema meaning 'country' or 'region' in Telugu. Avanigadda
Avanigadda is a town in Krishna district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the mandal headquarters of Avanigadda mandal in Machilipatnam revenue division. This area compromises the old area of Diviseema. Geography Avanigadda is located on the banks of the Krishna River. It is located 30 km away from the delta of Krishna River and Bay of Bengal. Climate Due to its proximity to the Bay of Bengal, Avanigadda and its surrounding villages are prone to cyclones and floods. It is devastated by 1977 Andhra Pradesh cyclone which had a velocity over 200 kmph.
