Hamro Nepali Party () is a political party in Nepal. The party was registered in the Election Commission on 13 July 2022, with Cane (''Lauro''; lit. Walking Stick) as its election symbol. The party's chairman is Ananta Raj Ghimire. History The party was founded by 'lauro campaign' activists who were supporters of independent candidates Balen Shah of Kathmandu and Harka Sampang of Dharan, both of whom were elected mayors of their respective cities and had contested the elections using the 'lauro' election symbol at the 2022 local elections. The party registered itself to contest the 2022 general and provincial elections. The party's candidate Shailendra Man Bajracharya was elected to the Bagmati Provincial Assembly from Kathmandu 8 (A) and the party also won a seat through the party list voting. 2022 Nepalese Local Elections
The 2022 Nepalese local elections were held on 13 May, 2022 in 6 metropolitan cities, 11 sub-metropolitan cities, 276 municipalities and 460 rural municipalities. These were the second set of local-level elections to be held since the promulgation of the new constitution in 2015. Electoral system Each local body has an elected head, a chair for rural municipalities and a mayor for municipalities. They also have a deputy head, a deputy chair for rural municipalities and a deputy mayor for municipalities. Local levels are further subdivided into wards which have a ward chairperson and four members out of which two must be female with one of them from the Dalit community. 2022 Nepalese Provincial Elections
Provincial assembly elections were held in Nepal on 20 November 2022 along with the general election. 330 seats in the seven provincial assemblies will be elected by first-past-the-post voting and 220 by proportional representation. Electoral system The 550 members of the provincial assemblies will be elected by two methods; 330 will be elected from single-member constituencies by first-past-the-post voting and 220 seats will be elected by closed list proportional representation for parties gathering more than 1.5% of the votes. Dharan
Dharan ( ne, धरान) a sub-metropolitan city in Sunsari District of Province No. 1, Nepal, which was established as a fourth municipality in the Kingdom in 1958. It is the third most populous city in Eastern Nepal after Biratnagar and Itahari. Pratinidhi Sabha
The Pratinidhi (the Viceroy) was an important member of the ministry in the Maratha Empire. The title of ''Pratinidhi'' means ''the representative of the King,'' and such officials were entitled to sign and seal papers and to issue orders in the absence of the Ruler. Harka Sampang
Harka Raj Sampang Rai (or Harka Sampang; ) is a Nepalese politician and the current mayor of Dharan. Rai is also a social activist. He has been elected as an independent candidate for the post Mayor, having 'Walking stick/Lauro' as the electoral symbol via the 2022 local election. He defeated Nepali Congress candidate Kishore Rai by receiving 20,821 votes. Early life and education Rai was born in Khartamchha, Khotang which is in present day Kepilasgadhi rural municipality.
