Hampton Downs
The Hampton Downs Motorsport Park is situated in rural northern Waikato (about halfway between Auckland and Hamilton on the Waikato Expressway), New Zealand near the Meremere drag strip and the dirt track club. History The motorsport park is an ambitious privately funded enterprise by two motorsport friends, Tony Roberts and Chris Watson. Roberts and Watson purchased two dairy farms from Envirowaste in December 2003 and began the long task of getting resource consent to build the Motorsport Park. Opposition from Transit NZ and the Corrections Department (their new prison is 2 km away) caused delays due to concerns over traffic, litter and odour, which was ironic with the landfill only away. The concept of apartments on the edge of the circuit was entirely new and untested in the market. Waikato
The Waikato () is a region of the upper North Island of New Zealand. It covers the Waikato District, Waipā District, Matamata-Piako District, South Waikato District and Hamilton City, as well as Hauraki, Coromandel Peninsula, the northern King Country, much of the Taupō District, and parts of the Rotorua Lakes District. It is governed by the Waikato Regional Council. The Waikato stretches from Coromandel Peninsula in the north, to the north-eastern slopes of Mount Ruapehu in the south, and spans the North Island from the west coast, through the Waikato and Hauraki to Coromandel Peninsula on the east coast. Waikato Expressway
The Waikato Expressway is a dual carriageway section of (SH 1) in New Zealand's Waikato region. Constructed in stages, it forms part of the link between Auckland and Hamilton. Currently stretching from Auckland to south of Cambridge, the first section of the highway was built in 1993. Throughout its lifetime, it has undergone many upgrades to optimise traffic flow throughout the Waikato region, including various bypasses of many towns in the region, culminating with Hamilton in 2022. The final part of the Expressway was completed on 12 July 2022. The expressway forms a -long continuous four-lane dual carriageway from the Bombay Hills to beyond the town of Cambridge, south-east of Hamilton. The Formula Regional Oceania Championship is New Zealand's premier formula racing category. Keith Code is an American former motorcycle racer, writer, and founder of the California Superbike School. He has been called "arguably the best known and most successful on-track motorcycle instructor in the world". Rider training Code founded the California Superbike School in 1980. Code's methodology has been taught to numerous championship winning riders such as Wayne Rainey, James Toseland and Leon Camier. As of 2019, riders who have been trained either at his schools or by him personally have won 60 world and national racing championships. His teaching has been spread all over the world. Jonathan Ross Reid, more commonly known as Jonny Reid, (born 18 October 1983 in Auckland) is a New Zealand racing driver. Career Early career Reid started his career in karting at the age of 8. Auckland Super400
The Auckland SuperSprint was an annual motor racing event for Supercars, held at Pukekohe Park Raceway in Pukekohe, New Zealand. The event was a regular part of the Supercars Championship—and its previous incarnations, the Shell Championship Series and V8 Supercars Championship—since 2001. The event was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Supercars returned to New Zealand and the Pukekoke Park Raceway circuit on September 10–11 for Round 10 of the 2022 season.
