Hammarby Fotboll
Hammarby Fotboll, more commonly known as Hammarby IF or simply Hammarby ( or, especially locally, ), is a Swedish professional association football, football club from Stockholm founded in 1915. The club is based at 3Arena (Stockholm), 3 Arena in Johanneshov but founded in the neighbouring Södermalm district of Stockholm City Centre, an area that is considered the club's heartland. Competing in Sweden's Swedish football league system, first tier, Allsvenskan, Hammarby are placed eighth in the all-time Allsvenskan table, and has won the league once, in 2001. The club has competed in the Svenska Cupen final five times, winning their first title in 2021. The club's colours are green and white, which are reflected in its crest and kit. Between 1918 and 1978, however, the club played in black-and-yellow striped home shirts, which since often form the club's away colors. 3Arena (Stockholm)
3Arena, formerly the Stockholmsarenan (and Tele2 Arena), is a retractable roof multi-purpose arena in Stockholm Globe City, Johanneshov, just south of Stockholm City Centre, Sweden. It is used mostly for concerts and football matches, hosting home matches of Allsvenskan teams Djurgårdens IF and Hammarby IF. The arena has a capacity of 30,000 to 35,000 spectators for football matches, depending on the number of people standing, and its facilities fulfill the requirements of FIFA and UEFA for hosting international games and tournaments. Gustav "Måsen" Björk (10 July 1900 – 12 May 1928) was a Swedish football player, best known for being a prolific goalscorer for Hammarby IF. In 1921, he won two caps for the Sweden men's national football team. Gösta "Pysen" Wihlborg (19 February 1898 – 28 November 1968) was a Swedish-American football player, best known for representing Hammarby IF. A full international between 1919 and 1923, he won 7 caps for the Sweden national team. Ragnar Gunnarsson (7 December 1891 – 13 March 1967) was a Swedish footballer who played as a forward, known for scoring the first goal in Hammarby IF's history in 1915. He won one cap for the Sweden men's national football team. Hammarby IP (short for "''Hammarby Idrottsplats''", "Hammarby Sports Ground") also known as "Kanalplan", is a football stadium in Stockholm, Sweden. The current main tenant is the women's football team Hammarby IF. The stadium was officially opened by Gustaf VI Adolf, at the time the crown prince of Sweden in 1915. Renovation Due to Hammarby winning promotion to Damallsvenskan in 2014 season, it was unclear if Hammarby IF DFF still would play in Kanalplan. The stadium didn't meet the requirements for the top-tier league because of "bad condition of the field and the surrounding area". Axel Robert Schönthal
Axel Robert Schönthal (12 June 1858 – 10 March 1929) was a Swedish engineer, known for being the founder and first chairman of the sports club Hammarby IF in Stockholm. Biography Axel Robert Schönthal was born in Norrköping to a Swedish-Jewish family, of Bavarian descent, as the son of Moses Moritz Schönthal, the rabbi at the local Norrköping Synagogue. At age 20, he moved to Södermalm, a district in the Stockholm City Centre. He studied to become an engineer and found employment at Stockholms Bomullsspinneri- och Väfveri AB. Throughout his professional career, Schönthal worked as a supervisor at their cotton spinning mill Barnängen.
