Hamid Nasir Chattha
Chaudhry Hamid Nasir Chattha () is a politician from Wazirabad, Punjab, Pakistan. He was born on 15 November 1944, in Lahore. Hamid Nasir Chattha was elected as a Member of Punjab Assembly, after losing in 2008 National Assembly elections to Justice (Retd.) Iftikhar Ahmed Cheema. He was previously elected as an MNA in 1985, 1990, 1993, and 2002 from his constituency of Gujranwala. Early life and family Hamid Nasir Chatha is the son of Ch. Salah-ud-Din Chatha. He has two sons, Fayyaz Chatha and Ahmad Chatha. Education and career Hamid Nasir Chattha attended Aitchison College in Lahore. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in political science from Government College Lahore in 1966 followed by Bar-at-Law from Lincoln's Inn, London. He was not able to complete his Bar at Law exam because of his father's death. General elections were held in Pakistan on 18 February 2008 to elect members of the 13th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. On 3 November 2007 President Pervez Musharraf enacted a state of emergency; elections were initially postponed indefinitely. However, it was later stated they would be held as planned. Wazirabad (Urdu/) is a city in Punjab, Pakistan. It is the administrative capital of Wazirabad District (formerly a Tehsil of Gujranwala District). Famous for its cutlery products, it is known as the city of cutlery and is also quite famous for its foods. Wazirabad is situated on the banks of the Chenab River nearly 100 kilometres north of Lahore on the Grand Trunk Road. Muhammad Ahmed Chattha () is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since February 2024. Political career Chattha contested the 2013 Pakistani general election from NA-101 Gujranwala-VII as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (J) (PML(J)), but was unsuccessful. He received 59,878 votes and was defeated by Iftikhar Cheema, a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML(N)), who polled 99,924 votes.
