Salim Ahmed Hamdan
Salim Ahmed Salim Hamdan (; born February 25, 1968) is a Yemeni man, captured during the invasion of Afghanistan, declared by the United States government to be an illegal enemy combatant and held as a detainee at Guantanamo Bay from 2002 to November 2008. He admits to being Osama bin Laden's personal driver and said he needed the money. He was originally charged by a military tribunal with "conspiracy and providing material support for terrorism," but the process of military tribunals was challenged in a case that went to the US Supreme Court. In '' Hamdan v. Rumsfeld'' (2006), the Court ruled that the military commissions as set up by the United States Department of Defense (DOD) were flawed and unconstitutional. Gibran Latif Hamdan (born February 8, 1981) is an American former professional football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) and NFL Europe. He was selected by the Washington Redskins in the seventh round of the 2003 NFL draft. He played college football at Indiana. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum (, '; 25 December 1945 – 24 March 2021) was an Emirati politician, the deputy ruler of Dubai and the minister of finance and industry of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He was the second son of the late ruler Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum was the head of the UAE's delegation at the International Monetary Fund and the OPEC Fund. Al Hamdan () is a Druze clan based in Jabal al-Druze, a mountainous region in southeastern Syria. They were among the earliest Druze settlers in Jabal Hawran and were the dominant local force in that region between their establishment there in 1711 and circa 1860, when the al-Atrash clan became the prominent Druze power. Banu Hamdan
Banu Hamdan (; Ancient South Arabian script, Musnad: 𐩠𐩣𐩵𐩬) is an ancient, large, and prominent Arab tribe in northern Yemen. Origins and location The Hamdan stemmed from the eponymous progenitor Awsala (nickname Hamdan) whose descent is traced back to the semi-legendary Kahlan. Their abode was, and still is, in northern Yemen, in the region north of Sanaa extending toward Marib and Najran to the east, Saada to the north and to the Red Sea coast to the west. In its most broad definition, the Hamdan group also includes the Hashid and Bakil groups, while in the most narrow it includes only a portion of Hashid that still uses the name "Hamdan" for itself. Yasmine Hani Hamdan (; born 1976) is a Lebanese singer and songwriter, now based in Paris. Biography Hamdan became known with Soapkills, the duo she founded with Zeid Hamdan (no relation) while she was still living in Beirut, Lebanon. The first album released by Soapkills was ''Bater'' (1999). Soapkills was one of the first independent electronic bands in the Middle East, and its innovative approach exerted a lasting influence. Abdullah Abdulrahman Al-Hamdan (; born 13 September 1999) is a Saudi Arabian football player who plays as a forward for Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal and the Saudi Arabia national team. Hamdan Bin Zayed Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan
Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan was the ruler of Abu Dhabi from 1912 to 1922. Biography Hamdan was the fifth son of Zayed I, Ruler of Abu Dhabi. Zayed I had many sons (at least seven) by several wives. His eldest son, Khalifa, declined the succession. Since Khalifa declined to accept leadership, his next brother, Tahnoun, was selected. Tahnoun ruled for three years (1909–12) and died peacefully at age 55. Tahnoun had no sons. When he died, his brother Hamdan (Zayed's fifth son) seized the rulership, superseding two older brothers, apart from Khalifa. Hamdan's rule was unpopular. Zeid Hamdan is a Lebanese music producer. He was named one of 8 leading lights in Lebanese culture by CNN.
