Hamburger Polo Club
The Hamburger Polo Club is a sports club in Hamburg, Germany, founded in 1898. The club participates in polo, field hockey, and tennis. The club's men's field hockey team is a member of Feldhockey Bundesliga, the top level professional men's field hockey league in Germany. In their third season in the Bundesliga in 2021–22 the men's team reached the final of the championship for the first time. They lost the final 1–0 to Rot-Weiss Köln. Polo is a ball game played on horseback, a traditional field sport and one of the world's oldest known team sports. The game is played by two opposing teams with the objective of scoring using a long-handled wooden mallet to hit a small hard ball through the opposing team's goal. Each team has four mounted riders, and the game usually lasts one to two hours, divided into periods called ''chukkas'' or "''chukkers''". Constantin Staib (born 31 August 1995) is a German field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or forward for Hamburger Polo Club and the German national team. Club career Constantin Staib plays as a forward for German club Hamburger Polo Club. Prior to his move to Hamburger Polo Club, Staib played for Club an der Alster until 2018. International career In 2015, Staib made his international debut for Germany in a test match against South Africa in Cape Town. Hugo Inglis (born 18 January 1991) is a New Zealand field hockey player who plays as a forward for the New Zealand national team. He played for the Southern Dogs in the New Zealand Hockey League and he played in Europe for SCHC, Braxgata and currently Rotterdam.
