Haliru Akilu (born 2 November 1947) is a Nigerian general who was Director of National Intelligence and Director of Military Intelligence at various times in the 1990s. Early life Akilu was born and educated in Kano State. Military career Akilu was commissioned in 1967 after he had attended the Nigerian Defence Academy. In 1969, he fought during the Nigerian Civil War as a company commander and was wounded. He later became, commander of the 146 Infantry Battalion that suppressed the Maitatsine religious riots. Education He later attended Junior Staff College, Warminister (1973), Pakistan Command and Staff College (1979), King's College London (1983), and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru (1989). Haliru Alhassan (1954 – 10 May 2020) was a Nigerian medical doctor and politician who served as the Minister of Health from March 2015 to May 2015 and as Minister of State for Health from February 2014 to March 2015 under the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan. Early life and education Alhassan was born in 1954 and hailed from Sokoto State. He attended the Medical University, Plovdiv, Bulgaria, from 1982 to 1988. He later pursued a master's degree in tropical paediatrics at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine between 1994 and 1995. Haliru Dantoro Kitoro III (1938 – 30 October 2015) was a Nigerian traditional ruler and politician. He became Emir of the Borgu Emirate, a Nigerian traditional state located in Niger State, on 26 February 2002, following the overthrow of his predecessor, Alhaji Isiaku Musa Jikantoro. He served as Emir until his death on 30 October 2015. Life Dantoro was born in 1938, the youngest of three children born to his parents, his hometown is New Bussa. Haliru Mohammed Bello (born 9 October 1945) is a Nigerian politician. He was trained in veterinary medicine. He held various administrative positions under the military governments before 1999. He was the Minister of Communications from June 2001 to May 2003. After he left office he was indicted in a bribery scandal involving the German telecom company Siemens AG.
