Haleem Adil Sheikh
Haleem Adil Sheikh ( ur, ) is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh since August 2018, and has served as leader of opposition of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh since January 2021. Sheikh served as the parliamentary leader of PTI in Provincial Assembly of Sindh from August 2018 to January 2021, and was the president of PTI for Sindh from 21 July 2019 to 25 December 2021. Political career Sheikh was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh as a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf from constituency PS-99 (Karachi East-I) in 2018 Pakistani general election. In January 2021, he was appointed as leader of opposition of Sindh Assembly. Sheikh was arrested 25 Aug 2022 by the Anti-Encroachment Force (AEF) sindh in connection with a land-grabbing case. Provincial Assembly Of Sindh
The Provincial Assembly of Sindh ( ur, ) is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of the Pakistani province of Sindh, and is located in Karachi, the provincial capital. It was established under Article 106 of the Constitution of Pakistan having a total of 168 seats, with 130 general seats, 29 seats reserved for women and 9 seats reserved for non-Muslims. No-confidence Motion Against Imran Khan
In April 2022, a no-confidence motion against Imran Khan led to his removal as the prime minister of Pakistan. Based largely on the Westminster system of legislature, the prime minister commands confidence of the majority of the lower house of Parliament, the National Assembly of Pakistan, under clause (2A) of Article 91 of the Constitution. Numerous opposition parties joined forces to file the motion of no confidence against Imran Khan in the National Assembly. 2018 Pakistani General Election
General elections were held in Pakistan on Wednesday, 25 July 2018 to elect the members of 15th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The three major parties Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan, the Pakistan Muslim League led by Shehbaz Sharif and the Pakistan Peoples Party led by Bilawal Bhutto. The PTI won the most seats in the National Assembly but fell short of a majority; the party subsequently formed a coalition government with several smaller parties. At the provincial level, the PTI remained the largest party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP); the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) retained its dominance in Sindh and the newly formed Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) emerged as the largest party in Balochistan.
