John Joseph Haldane
John Joseph Haldane (born 19 February 1954) is a British philosopher, commentator and broadcaster. He is a former papal adviser to the Vatican. He is credited with coining the term 'analytical Thomism' and is himself a Thomist in the analytic tradition. Haldane is associated with The Veritas Forum and is the current chair of the Royal Institute of Philosophy. Haldane is Vice President of the Catholic Union of Great Britain. Haldane Robert Mayer (born February 21, 1941) is a senior United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Education and military service Mayer was born in Buffalo, New York, to Haldane and Myrtle Mayer. He was educated in the public schools of Lockport, New York. Mayer was appointed to the United States Military Academy by Representative William E. Miller, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1963. Mayer served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1975. Haldane MacFall
Haldane MacFall (24 July 1860 – 25 July 1928) was a British Army officer who became an authoritative art critic, the author of several works of art history, an essayist and a novelist. He illustrated many of his own works, as well as bookplates and cover art for others, and exhibited at the Royal Academy. Early life Chambers Haldane Cooke MacFall was born in Roy Bareilli, Bengal, (now Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh), India on 24 July 1860. His father, David Chambers McFall (1833–1898) was an army surgeon attached to the Indian border regiment. His mother, Abigail Crawford, died while Haldane and his younger brother Albert William Crawford McFall (1862–1923) were young children. Haldane Duncan (25 July 1940 – 26 December 2018) was a Scottish television producer and director, best known for his contributions to soap operas. Career Early years In 1958, Duncan left George Heriot's School in Edinburgh to take up a career in Insurance. In 1965, after attending the College of Drama in Glasgow (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), Duncan moved to working in the Theatre in Edinburgh, firstly at the Traverse in its original location in James' Court on the Lawnmarket under Jim Haynes. James John (J.J.) Haldane Burgess (28 May 1862 – 16 January 1927) was a Shetland historian, poet, novelist, violinist, linguist and socialist, a noted figure in Shetland's cultural history. Richard Burdon Haldane, 1st Viscount Haldane, (; 30 July 1856 – 19 August 1928) was a Scottish-born English lawyer, philosopher, an influential British Liberal and later Labour politician and statesman. He was Secretary of State for War between 1905 and 1912 during which time the " Haldane Reforms" of the British Army were implemented. Patrick Haldane
Rev Patrick Haldane of Gleneagles MP (1683–1769) was a Scottish classicist, advocate, politician and judge. Life He was born the second son of John Haldane of Gleneagles, M.P., and the younger brother of Mungo Haldane. He was educated at St. Andrews University (1699), Leyden University (1711) and qualified as an advocate in 1715. He succeeded his brother Mungo Haldane as 16th Laird of Gleneagles in 1759. He was Professor of Greek at St. Andrews University in 1705-07 and professor of ecclesiastical history there in 1707-18.
