Hakuto-R Mission 2
Hakuto-R Mission 2, also called ''Resilience'', was a robotic Moon landing , lunar landing mission launched on 15 January 2025. Developed by the Japanese company Ispace (Japanese company), ispace, the lander was intended to deliver a small Rover (space exploration), rover manufactured by the company's European subsidiary, as well as other payloads. Like Hakuto-R Mission 1, this mission served as a technology demonstration, with the final goal of providing reliable transportation and data services on the Moon. The lander was named ''RESILIENCE''. Communications were lost approximately 90 seconds before the projected landing and the lander likely crashed on the Moon. A Moon landing or lunar landing is the arrival of a spacecraft on the surface of the Moon, including both crewed and robotic missions. Atlas (crater)
Atlas is a prominent lunar impact crater that is located in the northeast part of the Moon, to the southeast of Mare Frigoris. Just to the west is the slightly smaller but still prominent crater Hercules. Northeast of Atlas is the large crater Endymion. The inner wall of Atlas is multiply terraced and the edge slumped, forming a sharp-edged lip. This is a floor-fractured crater with a rough and hilly interior that has a lighter albedo than the surroundings. Floor-fractures are usually created as a result of volcanic modifications.
