Hakam Sufi
Hakam Sufi (3 March 1952 – 4 September 2012) was an Indian singer as well as songwriter of Punjabi music. He was known for his songs like, ''paani vich maaran deetan'' from a Punjabi film and more. Known for his clean and pure style of music, Hakam Sufi stayed away from vulgarity and bawdy lyrics. Untrapped by commercial interests, Sufi, who worked as a school teacher remained dedicated to pristine pure music till his death. Personal life Sufi remained single throughout his life, primarily so that he could dedicate himself to music and to bringing up his siblings. Giddarbaha
Giddarbaha is a town and a municipal council in Muktsar district, in the Indian state of Punjab. It is from the city of Malout, from the city of Bathinda and from the city of Muktsar. It lies on NH-7, which connects Fazilka (Punjab) to Mana (Uttarakhand) in India. History Giddarbaha in its earliest stage was known as ''Pepali'' () named after an old pipal tree. It was a very happy and small village with limited number of people. According to local tradition, when Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji visited Pepali, he saw ladies of the village disturbed by a jackal () when they went to fetch water from the well. He asked the villagers about this and they told him that everybody in this village was married except the jackal. After knowing the problem, Guruji arranged the marriage of jackal to the pipal tree. Sri Muktsar Sahib
Sri Muktsar Sahib ( ), often referred to as simply Muktsar, is a historical city and district headquarters in Punjab, India. The 2011 census of India put the total population of Sri Muktsar Sahib municipality at 117,085, making it the 14th largest city of Punjab, in terms of population. The second Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Angad (Nanak II) was born in the village Matte-di-Sarai (Sarainaga) in the same district. Earlier the city was called Khidrana/Khidrane di dhab, the city was named Muktsar after the Battle of Muktsar in 1705 and the district headquarters in 1995. Gurdas Maan (born 4 January 1957) is an Indian singer, songwriter and actor mainly associated with Punjabi language music and films. He gained national attention in 1980 with the song "Dil Da Mamla Hai". Since then, he had gone on to record over 34 albums and had written over 305 songs. In 2015 he performed on the song "Ki Banu Dunia Da" with Diljit Dosanjh in MTV Coke studio India that was aired in season 4 episode 5 (16 August 2015) on MTV India. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest and the most influential Punjabi musicians of all time. Early life Maan was born to Gurdev Singh and Tej Kaur in Giddarbaha, Punjab and is a native of the town.
