Hajji (; sometimes spelled Hajjeh, Hadji, Haji, Alhaji, Al-Hadj, Al-Haj or El-Hajj) is an honorific title which is given to a Muslim who has successfully completed the Hajj to Mecca. Etymology ''Hajji'' is derived from the Arabic ' (), which is the active participle of the verb ' ('to make the pilgrimage'; ). The alternative form ' is derived from the name of the Hajj with the adjectival suffix -''ī'' (), and this was the form adopted by non-Arabic languages. Hajji Zayn Al-Attar
Haji Zayn Attar ( 1329–1403) was a 14th-century Persian physician. He is best known as the author of the Persian language pharmacopoeia ''Ekhtiyarat i Badi i''. Biography Attar was born in 1329-1330 CE (730 AH) in Shiraz, and lived during the rule of the Injuids and the Muzaffarids. He was a descendent of the Sufi philosopher Abdullah Ansari. His father Kamal ol Din Hosein Ansari was a well-known physician, and had migrated from Isfahan to Shiraz. He served for sixteen years as the court physician to the Muzaffarid ruler Shah Shuja (r. 1358-1384). Attar died at Shiraz in 1403-1404 CE (806-807 AH). He had two sons: Hosein and Ahmad. The elder son Hosein Ansari wrote ''Sahah ol Adviah'' or ''Is-hah ol Adviah ("The Correction of Medicines"), considered a supplement to his father's book. Seamus Haji (born 30 December 1968) is an English DJ and record producer. Biography Seamus Haji had a chart-topper, number one on the List of number-one dance hits of 2007 (UK), UK Dance Chart, with a cover version, cover of Indeep's "Last Night a DJ Saved My Life (song), Last Night a DJ Saved My Life". He originally released this as a single (music), single in 2004. The single originally reached #69 on the UK Singles Chart, and #13 on re-issue in March 2007 and #1 on the UK Dance Chart. Osman Haji Mohamed (, ) (b. 1920 – d. July 28, 1975), also known as Osman Baketti, was a Somali politician. He was a prominent figure in the government of the Trust Territory of Somalia and the succeeding civilian administration of independent Somalia. Early years Osman was born in 1920 in the town of Mareeg, situated in the El Dher District in central Somalia. Mohamed Yusuf Haji
Mohamed Yusuf Haji () (23 December 1940 – 15 February 2021) was a Kenyan politician. He was the Minister of Defence of Kenya from 2008 to 2013, and briefly served as its acting Minister of Internal Security and Provincial Affairs in 2012. He served in the Senate of Kenya since 2013 under the jubilee party. He died on 15 February 2021.
