Haining Open
The Haining Open was a non-ranking snooker tournament. It was a minor-Snooker world rankings, ranking part of the Players Tour Championship until 2015. History The tournament started in 2014 and was staged at the Haining Sports Center in Haining, Zhejiang, China. The inaugural tournament was won by Stuart Bingham who defeated fellow countryman Oliver Lines 4–0 in the final. In 2015, Ding Junhui won the tournament. Matthew Selt was the winner of the now CBSA sanctioned Haining Open tournament in 2016. The event now sanctioned by CBSA wanted to keep the event after the recent demise of the Asian Tour. Thepchaiya Un-Nooh was the 2019 Haining Open champion. As a result of travel restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament did not run in the 2020–21 season. Asian Tour 2014/2015 – Event 2
The Players Tour Championship 2014/2015, Asian Tour 2014/2015 – Event 2 (also known as the 2014 Haining China Leather City Open) was a professional list of minor-ranking tournaments, minor-ranking snooker tournament that took place between 20 and 24 October 2014 at the Haining Sports Center in Haining City, Haining, China. Ryan Day (snooker player), Ryan Day made the 107th official maximum break during his last 32 match against Cao Yupeng. This was Day's first official 147 break and also the second maximum break in the Snooker season 2014/2015, 2014/2015 season. Stuart Bingham won his fourth Asian Tour title by defeating Oliver Lines 4–0 in the final. The Haining Open was nineteen-year-old Lines' first professional final, in his maiden year on tour. Haining
() is a county-level city in Zhejiang Province, China, and under the jurisdiction of Jiaxing. It is in the south side of Yangtze River Delta, and in the north of Zhejiang. It is to the southwest of central Shanghai, and east of Hangzhou, the provincial capital. To its south lies the Qiantang River. 2014–15 Snooker Season
The 2014–15 snooker season was a series of snooker tournaments played between 8 May 2014 and 4 May 2015. The Riga Open was the first professional snooker tournament held in Latvia. The season also saw the first professional tournament in Portugal as the Lisbon Open took place. In November, it was announced that the World Open would not be held this season after the contract with the promoter was not renewed and a new venue was not found in time. But the intention was to bring the event back for the next season. The structure of the World Championship was changed. The top 16 seeds still qualified automatically for the first round at the Crucible, but all non-seeded players had to start in the first of three qualifying rounds. 2019–20 Snooker Season
The 2019–20 snooker season was a series of professional snooker tournaments played between 9 May 2019 and 22 August 2020. In total, 47 events were held during the season: however, the ending of the season was highly disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. 18 world ranking tournaments were planned to take place, but only 17 were played. An event was held in Austria, the first time in any snooker season, while the 2020 China Open was cancelled. The Tour Championship and the World Snooker Championship were postponed, and the Gibraltar Open played with no audience. The season contained 128 professional tour players, 35 of which had been given new two-year places on the tour from a combination of invitations and qualifying events. Judd Trump, the reigning world champion, won a record six ranking titles for a season. Trump also became the second player ever to compile over 100 century breaks in a season. 2018–19 Snooker Season
The 2018–19 snooker season was a series of professional snooker tournaments played between 10 May 2018 and 23 June 2019. The season was made up of ranking tournaments, non-ranking tournaments and variant tournaments. In total, 54 events were competed in the 2018–19 season, beginning with the pro–am 2018 Vienna Open, and ending with the 2019 World Snooker Championship. To be eligible to play in most tournaments, players had to have qualified to play on the World Snooker Tour, however, some wildcard former professional, and amateur players were eligible in certain competitions. The season also saw four events strictly for over 40s, as a part of the World Seniors Tour. Ronnie O'Sullivan, Neil Robertson and Judd Trump each won three ranking events with Mark Allen, Stuart Bingham and Kyren Wilson each winning twice. 2017–18 Snooker Season
The 2017–18 snooker season was a series of professional snooker tournaments played between 4 May 2017 and 7 May 2018. The season began with the pro–am Vienna Snooker Open in May 2017 and ended with the 2018 World Snooker Championship in April the following year. Ronnie O'Sullivan earned a joint-record five ranking titles in the season. He joined Stephen Hendry ( 1990/1991), Ding Junhui ( 2013/2014), and Mark Selby ( 2016/2017) in winning five ranking titles in the same season. The China Championship became a ranking event and was brought forward to a mid-August date, ahead of the Paul Hunter Classic. The Shanghai Masters was initially withdrawn from the season calendar, but was later rescheduled for November 2017. The biennial World Cup team event was played in July 2017. Tom Ford (snooker Player)
Tom Ford (born 17 August 1983) is an English professional snooker player from Leicester. Turning professional in 2001, Ford won his first ranking event at the 2024 Snooker Shoot Out. Ford has reached three further ranking finals - the 2016 Paul Hunter Classic, the 2023 German Masters and the 2023 International Championship. Ford has compiled five maximum breaks in competitive play, and over 300 breaks. Career Early years As a junior, Ford played against Mark Selby frequently. He began his professional career by playing the Challenge Tour in 2001, at the time the second-level professional tour. His first quarter-final came at the 2005 Malta Cup where he beat Ken Doherty, but eventually lost to Stephen Hendry. Mark Anthony Selby (born 19 June 1983) is an English professional snooker player. 2017 Haining Open
The 2017 CBSA Haining International Snooker Open was a non-ranking snooker tournament that took place from 23 to 27 October 2017 in Haining, China. Matthew Selt was the defending champion, but he lost 2–4 against Yu Delu in the quarter-finals. Mark Selby defeated Tom Ford 5–1 in the final and made a maximum break in the third frame. Selby's maximum does not count on the official maximum break list as this was a CBSA organised tournament. 2016–17 Snooker Season
The 2016–17 snooker season was a series of professional snooker tournaments played between 5 May 2016 and 1 May 2017. The number of ranking events was increased in 2016/17, with a target of 20 ranking events for 2017/18. According to the World Snooker chairman Barry Hearn, total prize money for the World Snooker Tour in 2016/17 hit £10 million for the first time ever. The trophy for the Masters (snooker), Masters was renamed the Paul Hunter trophy in perpetuity, in memory of the three-time Masters champion who died in 2006. The Snooker Shoot Out became a ranking event for the first time. The Australian Goldfields Open was cancelled. Li Hang (snooker Player)
Li Hang (; born 4 October 1990) is a Chinese former professional snooker player who, in 2023, was permanently banned from the sport after committing a range of match-fixing offences. Li first competed professionally during the 2008–09 season. His best performances during his professional career were reaching two ranking semi-finals. He reached a career high of 28th in the snooker world rankings in 2019. In December 2022, the WPBSA suspended Li from the professional tour amid a match-fixing investigation. In January 2023, it charged him with fixing a match, being concerned in fixing matches, approaching a player to fix a match, seeking to obstruct the investigation, and betting on snooker matches. Following an independent disciplinary tribunal, Li received a lifetime ban from the sport.
