Haikou Bay
Haikou Bay is a bay on the northern coast of Hainan Province, China, in the Qiongzhou Strait. It is named for Haikou City, which is situated on the coast. This shallow bay spans approximately 12 km from its eastern boundary at the northwestern tip of Haidian Island to its western boundary roughly at Hainan International Convention And Exhibition Center. Haidian River
The Haidian River () runs through Haikou City, separating the main part of and its northern part Haidian Island, in Hainan province. Its tributary is the Nandu River. There are three bridges that cross the river: * Haikou Century Bridge near the mouth of the Haidian River at Haikou Bay. *Renmin Bridge () crosses a narrow section of the Haidian River linking Changdi Road () with Renmin Avenue (). *Heping Bridge () connects Changdi Road and Heping Avenue () across the Haidian River. Qiongzhou Strait
The Qiongzhou Strait, also called the is the Chinese strait that separates Guangdong's Leizhou Peninsula from the island province of Hainan. It connects the Gulf of Tonkin on its west to the South China Sea on its east. The strait is on average wide with a maximum water depth of approximately . The strait is susceptible to closure during strong typhoon activity. Whales and dugongs were once common in the strait. History The strait was crossed by the People's Liberation Army forces in the spring of 1950. Transportation The Guangdong–Hainan Ferry (part of the Guangdong–Hainan railway) carries rail cars and automotive vehicles across the strait. While a bridge was planned in the early 2000s, it never came to fruition. Haidian Island
Haidian Island () is an island that forms part of the city of Haikou, Hainan Province, China. It is separated from the main part of Haikou by the Haidian River. The north coast faces the Qiongzhou Strait. The east coast faces Xinbu Island, separated by part of the Nandu River. The west coast faces Haikou Bay. Both Renmin Avenue and Heping Avenue are the main streets on the island. Hainan International Convention And Exhibition Center
The Hainan International Convention And Exhibition Center () designed and built by Atelier Li Xinggang is located around 20 km west of the centre of Haikou, on the north coast of Hainan Province, China. The total area of the site is 136,200 square meters, which contains a 77,000 m2 exhibition center and a 42,000 m2 convention center. Before this convention centre opened, the smaller Hainan Exhibition & Convention Center served as the area's main convention centre. Holiday Beach, Hainan
Holiday Beach () (officially Holiday Beachside Resort) is beach and visitor attraction located along Binhai Road, Haikou, Hainan, China. The 7-kilometre-long, 33 hectare beach area was officially established in 1995. It is essentially an extension of Xixiu Park, which is directly to the east of Holiday Beach. Since then, it has undergone development with the establishment of visitor attractions such as restaurants, swimming pools, and an amphitheatre. The land beside the beach has been landscaped and pathways created. The entire shoreline is maintained by workers who remove rubbish. The beach itself is roughly twenty metres from seawall to waterline, and is visited by tourists and locals alike. Evergreen Park (Haikou)
Evergreen Park () is a public park located in Longhua District, Haikou, Hainan Province, China. It is the largest park in the city. It is one of four major parks in Haikou and can be compared to Baishamen Park in that both have large, open, grass areas. The other two, Golden Bull Mountain Ridge Park and Haikou People's Park, have a relatively high percentage of tree cover. Many of the city's festivals and events are held in Evergreen Park. History Evergreen Park was opened on January 3, 1996. Around 2017 to 2018, the park was renovated.
