Hagfish Band
Hagfish were an American Rock music, rock band originated in Sherman, Texas that rose to notoriety via performances in the Deep Ellum district of Dallas, Texas, drawing influences from both punk rock and alternative rock. The lineup included lead vocalist George Stroud Reagan III, guitarist Zach Blair, bassist Doni Blair and drummer Tony Barsotti for the majority of the band's career, including nearly all of their recorded work. Formed by the Blair brothers in 1991, Hagfish emerged with contemporaries Tripping Daisy and Toadies as part of the 1990s Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex, Dallas/Fort Worth alternative rock scene and were also heavily influenced by the Descendents/All (band), All, whose members recorded and produced two of the band's studio albums. Tripping Daisy
Tripping Daisy is a neo-psychedelic pop rock band that was formed in Dallas, Texas, by lead singer/guitarist Tim DeLaughter in 1990 along with Jeff Bouck (drums), Wes Berggren (guitar) and Mark Pirro (bass). The group disbanded in 1999 following the sudden death of Berggren. The remaining members reformed in 2017 for a reunion performance at the Homegrown Festival in Dallas, following which they played a number of concerts in Texas during 2017, 2019, and 2022. In June 2024, the band officially reformed, and have plans to tour and record a new album. The Blasting Room
The Blasting Room is a recording studio in Fort Collins, Colorado. Founded by members of the punk rock band All in 1994, it is owned and operated by musician Bill Stevenson ( Descendents, Black Flag, All, Only Crime) and Jason Livermore. The studio is known for recording and producing many punk rock bands, with Stevenson and Livermore serving as in-house audio engineers and record producers. History In July 1994, the members of All relocated from Brookfield, Missouri to Fort Collins. Using money from their recent recording contract with Interscope Records, they designed and began construction of The Blasting Room with the help of guitarist Stephen Egerton's father, Dan O'Reilly. In music, a single is a type of release of a song recording of fewer tracks than an album ( LP), typically one or two tracks. ''Bill'' is the debut studio album American rock band Tripping Daisy. It was first released in November 1992 on the Dragon Street label, and then re-released on July 20, 1993 on the Island Red Label. On the re-release, the track "Green Tambourine" was removed, and the two unlisted tracks were appended to the final track. The album had sold around 15,000 copies before it was picked up by Island. Transient Songs started as the recording–performing project of singer–songwriter John Frum. Transient Songs is based in Seattle, Washington, and releases music on the boutique labeIndian Casino Records Originally a duo with Andy Gassaway from Lawrence, Kansas on bass and slide guitar, the two released their first EP, ''Plantation to Your Youth'' in 2008 to acclaimed reviews. Swervedriver are an English alternative rock band formed in Oxford in 1989 around core members Adam Franklin and Jimmy Hartridge. Between 1989 and 1998, the band released four studio albums and numerous EPs and singles despite a considerable flux of members, managers, and record labels. By 1993 the band's lineup had settled with Franklin on vocals/guitar, Hartridge on guitar, Jez Hindmarsh on drums, and Steve George on bass. They had emerged with a heavier rock sound than their shoegaze contemporaries, and over the next five years it evolved to include elements of psychedelia, classic pop, and indie rock. Record label issues and waning interest within the group led to their split at the end of 1998. Banning Lyon
Banning Lyon was a plaintiff in a 1990s class action lawsuit against National Medical Enterprises, now Tenet Healthcare. His involvement in the lawsuit led to the publication of an autobiographical op-ed in ''The New York Times'' in October, 1993. Lyon was born and raised in Southern California and was a founding member of the Hagfish punk Rock band. Music Banning Lyon co-founded the punk rock band Hagfish with Doni and Zach Blair in 1991. Lyon drummed for the band for approximately two years, opening for bands such as ALL, Swervedriver, and Poster Children. He finally left the band after several disagreements with the Blair brothers. Lyon went on to reunite with high school friends Jarrod King (guitar) and Jef King (vocals), with Damon Earnheart on bass, to form the skate punk band Cleaners, based in the Dallas/Ft.
