''Haechi'' () is a 2019 South Korean television series starring Jung Il-woo, Go Ara, Kwon Yul, and Park Hoon. Produced by Kim Jong-hak Production, it aired on SBS TV from February 11 to April 30, 2019, every Monday and Tuesday at 22:00 ( KST) for 48 episodes. Synopsis Set during the Joseon dynasty period, the series follows four people from different walks of life who come together to help Yi Geum, Prince Yeoning (later King Yeongjo) claim the throne and reform the Saheonbu. King Yeongjo
Yeongjo (; 31 October 1694 – 22 April 1776), personal name Yi Geum (), was the 21st monarch of the Joseon dynasty of Korea. He was the second son of King Sukjong by his concubine, Royal Noble Consort Suk of the Haeju Choe clan. Before ascending to power, he was known as Prince Yeoning (). His life was characterized by political infighting and resentment due to his biological mother's low-born origins. In 1720, a few months after the accession of his elder half-brother, Yi Yun (posthumously King Gyeongjong), as the 20th king, Yeoning became the crown prince. Southerners (Korean Political Faction)
The Southerners () were a political faction of the Joseon Dynasty. The faction was created after the split of the Easterners in 1591 by Yi Sanhae's opponents. Its leader was Yu Sŏngnyong, who died in 1607. Leader Heo Mok was Left Prime Minister from 1675 to 1678. Leader Yun Hyu was executed in 1680. Crown Prince Sohyeon
Crown Prince Sohyeon (, 5 February 1612 – 21 May 1645) was the first son of King Injo of Joseon Dynasty. Sohyeon was a hostage in the Manchu court at Shenyang, by the terms of the peace treaty concluded after War in 1636. The Noron () were a political faction of the Joseon Dynasty in Korea. They consisted of the supporters of Song Siyeol after the split of the Westerners. Queen Inhyeon
Queen Inhyeon (; 23 April 1667 – 14 August 1701), of the Yeoheung Min clan, was the second wife of King Sukjong, the 19th Joseon monarch. She was queen of Joseon from 1681 until her deposition in 1688, and from her reinstatement in 1694 until her death in 1701. Bak Mun-su
Park Mun-su (; October 28, 1691–1756), also known as Bak Munsu, was a Korean government official in the period of Yeongjo of Joseon, King Yeongjo in the Joseon period. He was famous for the lifetime he spent protecting the Korean people from corrupt royal officials. Park passed the state examination in 1723 and later became a secret royal inspector (''Amhaengeosa''; 暗行御史, 암행어사). He is the most famous secret inspector in the history of Korea, and has become something of a legendary figure, with many legends surrounding his achievements. Bak was the son of Park Hang-han, and a member of the Goryeong Park clan. His art name was Gieun, his courtesy name was Seongbo, and his posthumous name was Chungheon.
