Hadiyanto
Hadiyanto Wirawan (born 31 March 1955) is an Indonesian former badminton player. About A former national champion, Hadiyanto is best remembered for his win over top seed Prakash Padukone in 1980 World Championships in quarterfinals. Padukone was heavy favourite for the tournament but was denied by Hadiyanto in two straight games 15–11, 15–13. In the semifinals he lost to legendary Rudy Hartono and bagged the bronze medal. Hadiyanto played in the final tie of 1982 Asian Games where Indonesian team won the silver medal and was also a part of team that won the 1984 Thomas Cup, beating China in the final. Lius Pongoh
Lius Pongoh (born December 3, 1960, in Jakarta; ) is an Indonesian former badminton player. Career Pongoh played singles at a world class level in the 1980s. At nineteen he was a bronze medalist at the 1980 IBF World Championships in Jakarta, losing in the semifinals to fellow countryman Liem Swie King. On the international badminton circuit Pongoh's wins included the Swedish (1981), Indonesia (1984), and Chinese Taipei (1985) Opens, the 1981 Copenhagen Cup (forerunner of the Copenhagen Masters), and the 1982 Indian Masters. Rudy Heryanto ( zh, c=楊榮美; born 19 October 1954) is an Indonesian former badminton player. Career A men's doubles specialist, Heryanto and fellow countrymen Hariamanto Kartono formed one of the world's leading teams between 1980 and 1985. As upstarts they earned silver medals at the 1980 IBF World Championships in Jakarta, losing the final to veteran Indonesian teammates Ade Chandra and Christian Hadinata. Hariamanto Kartono ( zh, c=陳金德; born 1954) is a retired Chinese Indonesian badminton player. Career Partnered first with Rudy Heryanto and later with singles star Liem Swie King, Kartono was one of the world's leading doubles players in the early and mid-1980s. As upstarts, he and Heryanto took silver medals at the 1980 IBF World Championships in Jakarta, losing the final to veteran fellow countrymen Ade Chandra and Christian Hadinata. At the 1981 All-England Championships they avenged that loss in the semifinal, and went on to defeat another highly decorated Indonesian pair, Tjun Tjun and Johan Wahjudi, in the final. Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side).
