Habeas Tortoise
"Habeas Tortoise" is the thirty-fourth season premiere of the American animated television series ''The Simpsons'', and the 729th episode overall. It aired in the United States on Fox on September 25, 2022. The episode was directed by Matthew Faughnan and written by Broti Gupta. In this episode, Homer finds community when looking for a missing zoo tortoise, but the group begins to postulate more extreme ideas. The episode received positive reviews. Plot Homer is publicly humiliated at a town meeting, ashamed that people think he is dumb. To make him feel better, Marge takes him on a trip to the zoo where he is excited to see a tortoise named Slow Leonard, only to find that the tortoise is missing. Determined to solve the mystery and to prove his intelligence, Homer reviews pictures from the trip and finds dolly tracks near Leonard's habitat, suspecting that he was stolen. Matthew Faughnan
Matthew Faughnan is an American animation director with ''The Simpsons'' and has directed twenty four episodes. Prior to that, he was an assistant director with the show and won a Primetime Emmy Award in the category Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program, Oustatnding Animated Program in 2003 for "Three Gays of the Condo". Chief Wiggum
Chief Clancy Wiggum is a fictional character from the animated television series ''The Simpsons'', voiced by Hank Azaria. He is the chief of police in the show's setting of Springfield, and is the father of Ralph Wiggum and the husband of Sarah Wiggum. Gluttonous, irresponsible, and immature, Wiggum is often too lazy, cowardly, and corrupt to bother fighting crime. His more responsible subordinate officers Eddie and Lou play the straight men to his shenanigans. Character development His surname "Wiggum" is Matt Groening's mother's maiden name and her parents were Norwegian immigrants. As "a conscious pun", Wiggum was designed to look like a pig. Hank Azaria first based his voice for Wiggum on David Brinkley, but it was too slow and he switched it to an Edward G. Robinson impression. The twelfth season of the American animated sitcom ''The Simpsons'' aired on Fox between November 1, 2000 and May 20, 2001. It began with " Treehouse of Horror XI". The season contains four hold-over episodes from the season 11 (BABF) production line. The showrunner for the twelfth production season was Mike Scully. The season won and was nominated for numerous awards including two Primetime Emmy Awards wins and an Annie Award nomination. Season 12 was released on DVD in Region 1 on August 18, 2009, Region 2 on September 28, 2009, and Region 4 on September 2, 2009.
