Haasil Ghaat
''Hasil Ghaat'' ( ur, حاصل گھاٹ) is a novel by Bano Qudsia. There is some controversy as to whether this book be classified as a novel. It is mainly a collection of thoughts of an old Pakistani man Humayun Farid who is visiting his emigrant daughter Arjmand in United States. Most of the thoughts occur to him as he is sitting in the balcony of her daughter's home. The narrative may well be thought to be employing the stream of consciousness technique. Bano Qudsia
Bano Qudsia ( ur, ; 28 November 19284 February 2017), also known as Bano Aapa, was a Pakistani novelist, playwright and spiritualist. She wrote literature in Urdu, producing novels, dramas plays and short stories. Qudsia is best recognized for her novel ''Raja Gidh.'' Qudsia also wrote for television and stage in both Urdu and Punjabi languages. Her play ''Aadhi Baat'' has been called "a classic play". Bano Qudsia died in Lahore on 4 February 2017. Personal life Bano Qudsia was born on 28 November 1928 in Firozpur, British India, as Qudsia Chattha in a Muslim Jat family. Her father was a Bachelor of Agriculture and her brother Pervaiz Chattha was a painter. Emigration is the act of leaving a resident country or place of residence with the intent to settle elsewhere (to permanently leave a country). Conversely, immigration describes the movement of people into one country from another (to permanently move to a country). In literary criticism, stream of consciousness is a narrative mode or method that attempts "to depict the multitudinous thoughts and feelings which pass through the mind" of a narrator. Raja Gidh
''Raja Gidh'' ( ur, راجه گدھ) by Bano Qudsia is an Urdu novel. Gidh is the Urdu word for a vulture and Raja is a Hindi synonym for king. The name anticipates the kingdom of vultures. In fact, parallel to the main plot of the novel, an allegorical story of such a kingdom is narrated. The metaphor of the vulture as an animal feeding mostly on the carcasses of dead animals is employed to portray the trespassing of ethical limits imposed by the society or by the religion. Urdu literature ( ur, , ) is literature in the Urdu language. While it tends to be dominated by poetry, especially the verse forms of the ''ghazal '' غزل and ''nazm '' نظم, it has expanded into other styles of writing, including that of the short story, or ''afsana'' افسانہ . Urdu literature is mostly popular in Pakistan, where Urdu is the national language and India, where it is a recognized language.
