HMNZS Manawanui (A09)
''Ocean Recovery'', previously HMNZS ''Manawanui'' (A09) was commissioned in 1988 as a diving support vessel for the Royal New Zealand Navy. Originally she was built as a diving support vessel, the ''Star Perseus'', for North Sea oil rig operations. ''Manawanui'' is the HMNZS Manawanui, third ship with this name to serve in the New Zealand Navy. Manawanui is a Māori language, Māori word meaning "to be brave or steadfast". ''Manawanui'' has a capability to hold station over a fixed position. She has a triple lock recompression chamber, a crane with 13 tonne lifting capacity, Diving bell, wet diving bell and a small engineering workshop. She also has limited deck cargo carrying capacity. MV Princess Ashika
MV ''Princess Ashika'' was an inter-island ferry which operated in the South Pacific kingdom of Tonga. This motorised vessel (MV) was built in 1972, and began sailing the Tongan route on 7 July 2009 only to sink less than a month later on 5 August. Official figures released by Operation Ashika on 19 August 2009, confirmed that 54 men were rescued, and 74 people were lost at sea. These include two bodies recovered and 72 missing (68 passengers and 4 crew), including five foreign nationals. Two of the missing passengers remain unidentified. Tonga's transportation minister, Paul Karalus, resigned six days after the tragedy. The ship was replaced in October 2010 by the MV ''‘Otuanga’ofa'', which after a period of testing, entered service in December 2010. Chuuk Lagoon, previously Truk Atoll, is an atoll in the central Pacific Ocean. It lies about 1,800 kilometres (970 nautical miles) northeast of New Guinea and is part of Chuuk State within the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). Carrington, New South Wales
Carrington is a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, and is named after Lord Carrington, governor of New South Wales in 1887 when the area was proclaimed a municipality. Devonport Naval Base is the home of the Royal New Zealand Navy, located at Devonport, New Zealand on Auckland's North Shore, New Zealand, North Shore.
