HLE (singer)
Hlengiwe Ntombela (born 12 April 1991), better known as HLE, is a South African gospel singer and songwriter. She is a former member of the gospel choir Joyous Celebration, and currently performs as a solo artist. Biography Life Ntombela grew up in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Her father was a bishop at Potters House Family Church. Career Ntombela began her career as a backing vocalist for Ntokozo Mbambo. In 2012, she was asked to lead a song with the Joyous Celebration gospel choir, after Khaya Mthethwa was unable to do so because of a commitment to Idols South Africa. She joined the choir afterwards. Ntombela later left the choir and embarked on a solo career as HLE. She recorded her debut gospel album, titled ''Your Kingdom on Earth'', in 2019. The same year, she was featured on Benjamin Dube's album, ''Glory in His Presence.'' In 2020, HLE released her debut solo single, "Dwala"; it debuted at number one on the iTunes charts. Kwaggafontein
Kwaggafontein is a town along the Moloto Road (R573) under Thembisile Hani Local Municipality Jurisdiction in the Nkangala District Municipality, which is located in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. It was established in the late 1940s by the Amandebele tribe. The Ndebele people came from farms that today are in the Mpumalanga and Gauteng provinces. Benjamin Dube
Benjamin Dube (born in 1962) is a South African gospel recording artist who rose to fame in the early 80s. Over the years he has released several albums which have reached gold and platinum status in the South African music rankings. Dube is also a lead pastor of the High Praise Centre in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg. Early years Coming from a religious family, Dube's music interest was sparked at an early age. South African Music Awards
The South African Music Awards (often simply the SAMAs) are the Recording Industry of South Africa's music industry awards, established in 1995. The ceremony is held annually, usually in late April or May, with the judging process starting in November of the previous year. The nominations are typically announced at the end of March. The winners receive a gold-plated statuette called a SAMA. The show has mostly been held at the Super Bowl in Sun City, with the exception of three years, and broadcast live on national broadcaster, SABC. ''Idols'' is a television show on the South African television network Mzansi Magic, and previously on M-Net, based on the popular British show '' Pop Idol''. The show is a contest to determine the best young singer in South Africa. The general format of the show is that thousands of hopeful performers from across South Africa audition in front of the judges. They are narrowed down to approximately 100 to enter the theatre rounds. They perform in group and solo rounds until 16 finalists are chosen by the judges (usually 8 males and 8 females). From these, the top 10 are selected, then each week viewers have several hours following the broadcast of the previous episode to vote by phone, SMS or online for their favourite contestant.
