Prago Union
Prago Union is a Czech hip hop group. The current members are MC Kato (a.k.a. Deph) and DJ Maro. DJ Maro joined Prago Union in 2008, replacing DJ Skupla. Deph and Skupla were previously members of the group Chaozz. History The group's first record was '' HDP'' (''Hrubý domácí produkt''; English: gross domestic product). Guests on this album included American producer Kutmasta Kurt and rappers Masta Ace and Planet Asia. The second record, ''Dezorient Express'', was released five years later in spring 2010. It had 22 tracks and was produced in collaboration with DJ Maro and Paulie Garand from the band BPM. This record received positive reviews, including a 9/10 rating from hip-hop magazine ''Bbarak'' and a 10/10 and "Album of the Week" from musicserver.cz. Czech Hip Hop
The hip hop subculture in the Czech Republic emerged after the Velvet Revolution in 1989. Since then the subculture has become an influential urban phenomenon, with hip hop groups, clubs and festivals appearing across the country. Notable hip hop artists from the Czech Republic include Chaozz, Gipsy.cz, Naše Věc and Prago Union. Festivals Hip Hop Kemp is an international hip hop festival held every year in late August in Eastern Bohemia. It has been running since 2002, and is one of the biggest hip-hop festivals in Europe with an audience of 20,000. Originally staged at the areál koupaliště Cihelna in Pardubice, it has since moved to Festival Park, Hradec Králové. The festival has multiple stages, and features a line up of local and international DJs, artists, breakdancers and graffiti artists over three days. Chaozz
Chaozz is a Czech hip hop group active from 1995 to 2002, during which time they released four studio albums. They reformed in 2017 and have since published one single. Career Chaozz was formed in 1995 by musicians Bass, MC Deph, Rusty, Fugaz, and DJ Smog. Bass and Rusty had previously been members of another hip hop group, UNIT, established in 1993, and MC Deph had released a solo record before working with Fugaz on a project called Flavamatic. UNIT disbanded in 1994, with Bass and Rusty joining DJ Smog to form the group Chaozz. Shortly afterward, the two groups merged under the name Chaozz. Jason Cullen Green (born October 24, 1976), better known as Planet Asia, is a rapper from Fresno, California. He is prominent for being one half of the now reunited hip-hop duo the Cali Agents and is currently a member of the groups Gold Chain Military and Durag Dynasty. He is also well known for his vast discography of mixtapes. History Originally from Fresno, California, Planet Asia moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1998 and began working with local producer, Fanatik. Duval Clear (born December 4, 1966), known better by his stage name Masta Ace, is an American rapper and record producer from New York City. He appeared on the classic 1988 Juice Crew posse cut " The Symphony". He is noted for his distinct voice and rapping proficiency,Shapiro, Peter, 2005, ''The Rough Guide To Hip-Hop, 2nd Edition, Penguin'', p. 247. and has influenced several MCs. Daniel Ebel (born 27 June 1974), better known as Dendemann, is a German rapper. He is known for his rough voice and his witty, wordplay-filled lyrics in which he mostly tells stories from everyday life. Biography Born in Wickede, Dendemann was raised in Menden and later relocated to Hamburg in 1996. His first success was with the crew Arme Ritter, who often functioned as support for Fettes Brot and were featured on their album ''außen Top Hits, innen Geschmack''. Arme Ritter had previously released a single called ''Disco '95'' on Sony Music, but to little avail. In the mid-1990s, Dendemann and Thomas "Rabauke" Jensen, the tour DJ of Fettes Brot, founded the hip hop duo Eins Zwo.
