H. Harrison Haskell
Howard Harrison "Jay" Haskell II (December 4, 1939 – July 28, 1990) was an American politician. He was a Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the 6th district from 1971 to 1978. Biography Haskell was born on December 4, 1939, in Titusville, Pennsylvania. He attended Titusville Area High School and Mercersburg Academy, graduating from Stetson University with a bachelor of arts and working on a masters degree. While at Stetson University, Haskell participated in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps program. Haskell started his political career serving as assistants to two U.S. Congressmen from Pennsylvania, James D. Weaver (1962–1964) and James G. Fulton (1963–1965). He later served as an assistant to the chair of the Pennsylvania Republican State Committee in 1966. Pleasantville is a borough in Venango County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 841 at the 2020 census, and 892 in 2010. It was an early oil 'boom town', and the population jumped from 291 to 1,598 between 1860 and 1870. The 1972 Republican National Convention was held from August 21 to August 23, 1972, at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Florida. It nominated President Richard M. Nixon and Vice President Spiro T. Agnew for reelection. The convention was chaired by House minority leader and future Nixon successor Gerald Ford of Michigan. Reserve Officers' Training Corps
The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC; or ) is a group of college- and university-based officer-training programs for training commissioned officers of the United States Armed Forces. While ROTC graduate officers serve in all branches of the U.S. military, the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Space Force, and the U.S. Coast Guard do not have their own respective ROTC programs; rather, graduates of Naval ROTC programs have the option to serve as officers in the Marine Corps contingent on meeting Marine Corps requirements. Graduates of Air Force ROTC also have the option to be commissioned in the Space Force as a Space Operations Officer.
