Gárdony
Gárdony is a town in Fejér county, Hungary. This town is next to Lake Velencei and is a popular summer destination. The town is divided into three parts: Gárdony, Agárd and Dinnyés and lies on the south shore of the lake. The name Gárdony is believed to have originated in the early 13th century. There is at least one known writing dating back to 1260 that referred to Gardun, King of Zsigmond (1387-1437). On 31 March 1989 Gárdony changed its status from village to town. In the summertime thousands of tourists visit the lake. In fact, several new resorts have recently opened on the shore of the lake. The lake is known as a great destination to bring the family. Tourists, who like water sports such as boating, swimming, sailing and fishing enjoy the lake. On the shore, there are facilities for volleyball, basketball, tennis, and football. Géza Gárdonyi
Géza Gárdonyi, born Géza Ziegler (3 August 1863 – 30 October 1922) was a Hungarian writer and journalist. Although he wrote a range of works, he had his greatest success as a historical novelist, particularly with '' Eclipse of the Crescent Moon'' and '' Slave of the Huns''. Life Gárdonyi was born in Agárdpuszta, Kingdom of Hungary, the son of a machinist on the estate of an aristocrat in Western Hungary. He graduated from at a college for teachers and worked for some years as a teacher and Catholic cantor. He married Mária Molnár in 1885, but their marriage was unhappy, and they separated in 1892. Gárdonyi's career as a writer started off when he began writing for magazines and newspapers in the mid-1880s. His first successes were the satirical "Göre Gábor" letters on rural life, works which he later repudiated. Gárdony ( hu, Gárdonyi járás) is a district in central-eastern part of Fejér County. '' Gárdony'' is also the name of the town where the district seat is found. The district is located in the Central Transdanubia Statistical Region. Lake Velencei
Lake Velence (german: Welenzer See), an endorheic basin, is the third largest natural lake in Hungary. It is a popular holiday destination among Hungarians. The lake has an area of 26 km2, one third of which is covered by the common reed. Because of the sunny climate of the area and the shallowness of the lake, it is one of the warmest lakes in Europe: its temperature in the summer may reach 26 to 28 °C.
