Germania Halberstadt
VfB Germania Halberstadt is a German football club from Halberstadt in Saxony-Anhalt. History The club was founded on 26 October 1949 as ''Betriebssportgemeinschaft Reichsbahn Halberstadt'' before being renamed ''BSG Lokomotive Halberstadt'' in 1950. Through the 1970s the team played in the East German third division DDR-Bezirksliga. After German reunification in 1990 the team was re-established as ''Eisenbahnsportverein Halberstadt'' and spent two seasons in the Verbandsliga Sachsen-Anhalt (IV) before slipping to the Landesliga Sachsen-Anhalt in 1992. Formed as a sports club for railway workers, the number of rail workers actually represented in the membership of the club dropped below 20% and it lost its affiliation with the Railway Sports Federation in 1993. The club became ''VfB Halberstadt'' that year while the footballers went their own way in 1994 as ''Fußball Club Germania Halberstadt'', adopting the heritage of a local pre-war side. Regionalliga Nordost
The Regionalliga Nordost is the fourth tier of German football league system, German football in the states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia. These comprise the states of former East Germany as well as West Berlin. It is one of five leagues at the fourth tier, together with the Regionalliga Bayern, Regionalliga Südwest, Regionalliga Nord and the Regionalliga West. From 1994 to 2000 it was part of the third tier, until the first of many re-structurings of the league system. The last of these occurred in 2012, which saw the Regionalliga Nordost reinstated. Saxony-Anhalt Cup
The Saxony-Anhalt Cup (German: Landespokal Sachsen-Anhalt) is an annual football cup competition in Saxony-Anhalt. The Football Association of Saxony-Anhalt (German: Fußballverband Sachsen-Anhalts, short: FSA) is its governing body. All non-professional sides that are members of the FSA may participate. Winners of the Saxony-Anhalt Cup will start in the first round of the DFB Cup. The cup final was played in Paul Greifzu Stadium in Dessau from 1998 to 2005. Since then it has been played in Schönebeck (Elbe) in 2006, and in the newly built Stadion Magdeburg since 2007. The cup is played in a one-leg mode, with extra time and penalty shoot-out when necessary. The teams share the revenue from the respective matches, and in the cup final, the Football Association also receives a share. The cup has been played since 1991. Record winners are 1. The Verbandsliga Sachsen-Anhalt is the sixth tier of the German football league system and the highest league in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt (german: Sachsen-Anhalt). 2010–11 NOFV-Oberliga
The 2010–11 season of the NOFV-Oberliga was the third season of the league at tier five (V) of the German football league system. The NOFV-Oberliga was split into two divisions, the NOFV-Oberliga Nord and the NOFV-Oberliga Süd. Berliner AK 07 and VfB Germania Halberstadt were promoted to the 2011–12 Regionalliga Nord.
