Günther Herrmann (11 September 1939 – 22 July 2023) was a German footballer who was capped nine times for the West Germany national team. Herrmann started his club career with Eintracht Trier (1956–1958) and Karlsruher SC (1958–1963). He moved to Schalke 04 for the 1963–64 season and made 110 league appearances for them over the next four seasons. He returned to Karlsruher SC for the 1967–68 season, and then moved to FC Sion (1968–1975). Herrmann was a member of the German squad at the 1962 FIFA World Cup The 1962 FIFA World Cup was the seventh edition of the FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football championship for senior men's national teams. Günther Herrmann (SS Commander)
Günther Herrmann (15 September 1908 − 17 February 2004) was a functionary in the SS of Nazi Germany during World War II and a convicted criminal. He commanded the ''Sonderkommando 4b'' and the ''Einsatzkommando 12'' of the '' Einsatzgruppe C'' in the occupied Soviet Union and the ''Einsatzgruppe E'' in Croatia. In 1973, Herrmann was convicted for the murders committed in 1941–42 in the occupied Soviet Union and was sentenced to seven years in prison. SS career Herrmann studied jurisprudence and political science at the Göttingen University. He joined the Nazi Party in 1933 and the SS in 1935. In February 1935, Herrmann was appointed deputy chief of Gestapo in Kiel; between 1936 and 1939 he was head of the Gestapo in Kassel. Upon the German occupation of Czechoslovakia and the establishment of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia in 1939, Herrmann was appointed as head of the Gestapo in Brno. Günter Hermann (born 5 December 1960) is a German former professional Association football, footballer who played as a defensive midfielder, mainly with SV Werder Bremen, Werder Bremen.
