Günther Heidemann
Günther Heidemann (October 21, 1932 – March 15, 2010) was a boxer from Germany. He was born in Berlin. He competed for Germany in the 1952 Summer Olympics held in Helsinki, Finland in the welterweight event, where he finished in third place. Two days before the end of World War II, he witnessed how two German snipers killed fifteen Russian soldiers. After each hit, they clapped their hands off, like athletes do. Stroke (also known as a cerebrovascular accident (CVA) or brain attack) is a medical condition in which poor blood flow to the brain causes cell death. Boxing At The Summer Olympics
Boxing has been contested at every Summer Olympic Games since its introduction to the program at the 1904 Summer Olympics, except for the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm, because Swedish law banned the sport at the time. The 2008 Summer Olympics were the final games with boxing as a male only event. Since the 2012 Summer Olympics, women's boxing is part of the program.
