The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet (assembly), Diet") is the lower house of the Germany, German Federalism in Germany, federal parliament. It is the only constitutional body of the federation directly elected by the German people. Max Straubinger
Max Straubinger (born 12 August 1954) is a German politician of the Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU) who has been serving as a member of the Bundestag from the state of Bavaria from 1994 to 2025. Political career Straubinger first became a member of the Bundestag in the 1994 German federal election. He was a member of the Committee for Labour and Social Affairs and the Committee for Food and Agriculture. In 2014, Straubinger co-chaired the CSU’s convention in Munich. Rottal-Inn is an electoral constituency (German: ''Wahlkreis'') represented in the Bundestag. It elects one member via first-past-the-post voting. Under the current constituency numbering system, it is designated as constituency 229. It is located in southeastern Bavaria, comprising the Dingolfing-Landau district, Rottal-Inn district, and small parts of the Landkreis Landshut district. The Christian Social Union in Bavaria ( German: , CSU) is a Christian democratic and conservative political party in Germany. Having a regionalist identity, the CSU operates only in Bavaria while its larger counterpart, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), operates in the other fifteen states of Germany.
