Araban
Araban () is a municipality and district of Gaziantep Province, Turkey. Its area is 592 km2, and its population is 32,933 (2022). The district was established in 1957. History The city was historically known as Raban. In October/November 958, the Byzantine Empire led by John Tzimiskes and Basil Lekapenos managed to defeat Sayf al-Dawla of the Hamdanids at the Battle of Raban. Raban was ruled by the Armenian ruler Kogh Vasil, following the First Crusade in 1097. It was captured by Mesud I in April 1150, before it was burned by the Mongols in the 13th century. In 1268, King Hethum I had to surrendered several fortresses including Raban to Baibars, who had imprisoned Hethum's son, Leo, following the Battle of Mari. Alevi
Alevism (; ; ) is a syncretic heterodox Islamic tradition, whose adherents follow the mystical Islamic teachings of Haji Bektash Veli, who taught the teachings of the Twelve Imams, whilst incorporating some traditions from shamanism. Differing from Sunni Islam and Usuli Twelver Shia Islam, Alevis have no binding religious dogmas, and teachings are passed on by a ''dede'' "spiritual leader" as with Sufi orders. Chepni Of Rumkale
Chepni of Rumkale () is a distinct branch of the Chepni tribe inhabiting the northeastern portion of the province of Gaziantep in south-central Turkey, formerly the Ottoman kaza of Rumkale. History Chepni was already present in the region of Rumkale by early 16th century, but it is unknown when the tribe migrated to the region. In late 17th century, Chepni living around Rumkale were known to be settled and would ransack the localities of Pazarcık and Keferdiz, a practice inherited from their nomadic past. Some tribesmen later built the Chepni or Kazımiye Tekke in Aintab.
