Gökay Akbulut (born 16 November 1982) is a Turkish-born German politician and social scientist. She is currently serving in the Bundestag (federal parliament) as a member of The Left Party from the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg. Early life, education and profession Akbulut was born in Pinarbaşi, Turkey, into a family of Kurdish Alevi background. After graduating from high school in Hamburg, Akbulut studied political sciences, sociology and public law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität in Heidelberg from October 2003 until September 2008. She graduated with a Magister. She completed an internship at the United Nations offices in New York in 2007 as well as an internship with the members of parliament Alexander Ullrich and Heike Hänsel in Berlin. Gökay Güney (born 19 May 1999) is a Turkish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for the Turkish club Kırşehir Futbol SK in the TFF Second League. Gökay Iravul (born 18 October 1992) is a Turkish footballer who plays as a midfielder for TFF Third League club Amasyaspor FK. Early life Iravul began his footballing career with local club Denizlispor in 2001, starting with the Junior Team (10–12 years old). After one year, Iravul was promoted to the Star Team (12–14) and began playing for the B Youth Team (14–16) soon after. Iravul impressed Fenerbahçe scouts at a B Youth Team match between Denizlispor and Fenerbahçe and was signed by the Istanbul club a year later. Fahrettin Kerim Gökay (January 9, 1900 – July 22, 1987) was a Turkish politician, civil servant, professor ordinarius and physician. He served as government minister, and is well known for his long-term position as governor of Istanbul. Early years He was born on January 9, 1900, in Eskişehir. His father was Hajji Kerim Efendi, a Crimean Tatar from Kerch and his mother Hajji Azize Hanım, an immigrant daughter from Dobruja. After finishing the primary school in his hometown, he studied in a high school in Istanbul. Gökay was educated at Istanbul University's Faculty of Medicine, from where he graduated as a physician in 1922. He then carried out studies between 1922 and 1924 at universities of Munich and Hamburg in Germany as well as at University of Vienna, Austria, specializing in neuropathy.
