''Gypsophiloides'' is a genus of flowering plants in the family Caryophyllaceae. It includes a single species, ''Gypsophiloides alsinoides'', an annual native to Iran, Afghanistan, Central Asia, and western Pakistan. The species was first described as ''Gypsophila alsinoides'' by Alexander von Bunge Alexander Georg von Bunge (; – ) was a Russian botanist. Alexander Georg von Bunge (; – ) was a Russian botanist. He is best remembered for scientific expeditions into Asia and especially Siberia. Early life and education Bunge was born under the name Alexander Andreevič von Bunge on in Kyiv as second son of a family that belonged to the History of Germans in Russia, Ukraine and the Soviet Union, German minority in Tsarist Russia.
