Gyaneshwar Patil () is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament from Khandwa parliamentary constituency of Madhya Pradesh state. He successfully contested the 2021 by-poll from Khandwa Lok sabha seat from the Bharatiya Janata Party, after the demise of Nandkumar Singh Chauhan due to complications from COVID-19. He won against the Raj Narayan Singh Purni by 82,140 votes. Khandwa is a city and a nagar nigam in the Nimar region of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is the administrative headquarters of the Khandwa district, formerly known as East Nimar District. Khandwa is a major railway junction; the Malwa line connecting Indore with the Deccan meets the main east–west line from Mumbai to Kolkata. History The name of the city is derived from "Khandav Van", which literally means Khandav Forests. Nandkumar Singh Chauhan
Nandkumar Singh Chauhan (8 September 1952 – 2 March 2021; ) was a politician from the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party. He was a member of Lok Sabha from Khandwa at the time of his death. Biography His first major foray in politics was from the now-defunct Shahpur Vidhan Sabha constituency, once a segment of Khandwa Lok Sabha seat. He first contested Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha election from Shahpur in 1980, as a candidate of BJP, but lost that time. He was first elected to Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha from Shahpur in 1985, and was re-elected in 1990 and 1993.
