Guy Fletcher
Guy Edward Fletcher (born 24 May 1960) is an English musician, best known for his position as one of the two keyboard players in the rock band Dire Straits from 1984 until the group's dissolution, and his subsequent work with Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler for his many solo releases. Fletcher was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Dire Straits in 2018. Guy Fletcher (songwriter)
Mervyn Guy Fletcher (born 21 April 1944) is an English record producer, singer and songwriter who, in partnership with Doug Flett, wrote several hits for other artists. As a singer, he had a small hit in the Netherlands and other European countries with the song "Mary in the Morning" (1971). Fletcher was chairman of PRS for Music from 1 January 2011 until 31 December 2016. Life and career Fletcher was born on 21 April 1944 in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England. He was educated at Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School. He worked as a session singer for the record producer Joe Meek, and as a jazz trumpet player. After deciding to turn to songwriting, he met lyricist Doug Flett in 1966 and their long partnership resulted in writing songs for several international artists. Cal (1984 Film)
''Cal'' is a 1984 Irish drama film directed by Pat O'Connor and starring John Lynch and Helen Mirren. Based on the novella ''Cal'' (1983) written by Bernard MacLaverty, who also wrote the script, the film was entered into the 1984 Cannes Film Festival, where Mirren won the award for Best Actress. One Deep River
''One Deep River'' is the tenth solo album by British musician Mark Knopfler. It was released on 12 April 2024. On 5 February, Knopfler released a behind-the-scenes video on YouTube of him and the band at work on the album. Guy Fletcher, John McCusker, Michael McGoldrick and Greg Leisz are shown to be part of the band. The first three singles from the album released are "Ahead of the Game" (released on 24 January), "Watch Me Gone" (released 22 February) and "Two Pairs of Hands" (released 27 March). The album was followed by a standalone EP for Record Store Day called ''The Boy'', containing four exclusive songs around a common theme of fairgrounds and boxing. Teenage Cancer Trust is a cancer care and support charity in the UK that exists to improve the cancer experience of young people aged 13–24. Founded in 1990, the charity's key service is providing specialist teenage units in NHS hospitals. It also trains and funds staff who are teenage cancer specialists. Vicente Amigo Girol (born 25 March 1967) is a Spanish flamenco composer and guitarist, born in Guadalcanal near Seville. He has played as an accompanying guitarist on recordings by flamenco singers Camarón de la Isla, and Luis de Córdoba, and he has acted as a producer for Remedios Amaya and José Mercé.
