Gustavo Núñez (baseball)
Gustavo Adolfo Núñez (born February 8, 1988) is a Dominican professional baseball infielder for the Sultanes de Monterrey of the Mexican League. Núñez signed with the Detroit Tigers as an international free agent in 2007. Career Detroit Tigers Núñez signed as an international free agent with the Detroit Tigers on May 3, 2007. He made his professional debut for the Dominican Summer League Tigers. In 2008, he played for the rookie-level Gulf Coast League Tigers and the High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers, hitting .235 in 58 games. Núñez split the 2009 season between the GCL Tigers and the Single-A West Michigan Whitecaps, batting .276/.333/.386 with 5 home runs and 26 RBI. Infielder
An infielder is a baseball player stationed at one of four defensive "infield" positions on the baseball field, between first base and third base. Standard arrangement of positions In a game of baseball, two teams of nine players take turns playing offensive and defensive roles. Although there are many rules to baseball, in general the team playing offense tries to score runs by batting balls into the field that enable runners to make a complete circuit of the four bases. Florida State League
The Florida State League (FSL) is a Minor League Baseball league based in the state of Florida. Having been classified at various levels throughout its existence, it operated at Class A-Advanced from 1990 until its demotion to Single-A following Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues. The league temporarily operated for the 2021 season as the Low-A Southeast before reassuming its original moniker in 2022. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are an American Minor League Baseball team based in Binghamton, New York. The Toledo Mud Hens are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. They are located in Toledo, Ohio, and play their home games at Fifth Third Field. A baseball team nicknamed the Mud Hens has played in Toledo for most seasons since 1896, including a 50-year history as a member of the now defunct American Association. The current franchise was established in 1965, joining the International League; this league was called the Triple-A East for the 2021 season. The Altoona Curve are a Minor League Baseball team based in Altoona, Pennsylvania, named after nearby Horseshoe Curve (but also alluding to the curveball, a type of pitch). The Bradenton Marauders are a Minor League Baseball team of the Florida State League and the Single-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. They are located in Bradenton, Florida, and play their home games at LECOM Park, which also serves as the Pirates' spring training facility. Previous franchise history The franchise can be directly traced to 1957 as the Tampa Tarpons, a team in the Florida State League, then a Class D minor league, based in Tampa.
