Gustave Pellet
Gustave Pellet (1859–1919) was a French publisher of art. He is best known for publishing prints of erotic artworks by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Louis Legrand. Life and work Gustave Jean Baptiste Xavier Pellet was born to a wealthy family. His spend his youth traveling and collecting art books. When the family fortune disappeared in a financial crash in 1886, Pellet decided, with a part of his book collection, to open a library in the Quai Voltaire in Paris. Pellet became a publisher of art books and fine art prints in 1887. He then moved to 51, Rue le Peletier, also in Paris. Pellet owned the rights to the artworks of Félicien Rops, whose watercolour paintings and drawings he published in a book of a hundred plates engraved by Albert Bertrand, some in colour. Among Pellet's artists were the Post-Impressionist painters Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Paul Signac. Louis Anquetin
Louis Émile Anquetin (26 January 1861 – 19 August 1932) was a French painting, painter. Biography Anquetin was born in Étrépagny, France, and educated at the Lycée Pierre Corneille (Rouen), Lycée Pierre Corneille in Rouen. In 1882 he came to Paris and began studying art at Léon Bonnat's studio, where he met Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The two artists later moved to the studio of Fernand Cormon, where they befriended Émile Bernard (painter), Émile Bernard and Vincent van Gogh. Around 1887, Anquetin and Bernard developed a painting style that used flat regions of color and thick, black contour outlines. This style, named ''cloisonnism'' by critic Édouard Dujardin, was inspired by both stained glass and Japanese ukiyo-e. Galerie Bernheim-Jeune
Bernheim-Jeune gallery is one of the oldest art galleries in Paris. Opened on Rue Laffitte in 1863 by Alexandre Bernheim (1839-1915), friend of Delacroix, Corot and Courbet, it changed location a few times before settling on Avenue Matignon. The gallery promoted realists, Barbizon school paintings and, in 1874, the first impressionist and later Post-Impressionist painters. It closed in 2019. Emil Georg Bührle (; 31 August 1890 - 26 November 1956) was a German-born Swiss industrialist, controversial armament manufacturer and art collector. Bührle was long-term managing owner of Oerlikon-Bührle and the founding patron of Foundation E.G. Bührle. By the end of World War II, Bührle had become Switzerland, Switzerland's richest man after having been told by the Swiss authorities to not only supply weapons to the Allies of World War II, Allies but also to Nazi Germany. Maximilien Luce (; 13 March 1858 – 6 February 1941) was a French Neo-impressionist artist, known for his paintings, graphic art and his anarchist activism. Starting as a wood-engraver, he subsequently concentrated on painting, first as an Impressionist, then as a Pointillist and finally returning to Impressionism. They are part of his series of works based on scenes from French brothels he was known to visit from 1892 to 1895.
