Gustav A. Anderson
Gustav Adolph Anderson (August 7, 1893 – April 7, 1983) was an American farmer and politician. Anderson was born in Stevens County, Minnesota. He served in the United States Army during World War I. Anderson lived in Morris, Minnesota with his wife and family and was a grain and stock farmer. Anderson served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1953 to 1956 and was a Democratic Party (United States), Democrat.'G.A. Stevens County, Minnesota
Stevens County is a county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 9,671. Its county seat is Morris. History The county was created by act of the Minnesota legislature on February 20, 1862. It was not organized at that time, and no county seat was named. The county was named for Isaac Stevens, who had led a railroad survey party across Minnesota in 1853 and was influential in bringing national attention to the Minnesota Territory. The territorial legislature had intended to thus honor Stevens in 1855 when another county was being created, but a clerical error caused that county to be named Stearns. The error was corrected by the 1862 act; by that time Stevens was a brigadier general for the Union Army in the American Civil War. Stevens was killed later that year. Morris, Minnesota
Morris is a city in and the county seat of Stevens County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 5,105 at the 2020 census. Morris is surrounded by some of the nation's richest agricultural land, and agribusiness is important to the local economy. Headquartered in Morris, Riverview LLP is Minnesota's largest dairy milking operation and one of the largest in the nation. Other large economic contributors are beef feedlots and swine producers, manufacturing, education, and healthcare industries. The town is home to the University of Minnesota Morris (UMM), part of the University of Minnesota system.
